Bumthang is located in the heart of Bhutan and is one of the kingdom’s most attractive destinations for hiking, visiting interesting places or just relaxing. It is also the center of religion and many monasteries are here in this valley. This trek can be graded as easy trek and it is the best one for the beginners. The trek crosses several villages providing an excellent opportunity to interact with the rural life of Bhutan. In this trek we will make our night halt in the farmer’s house instead of tent. The trek starts from Thangbi village and ends at Tang village.

- Duration of Trek: 2 Nights/3 Days
- Season: April, May, June, September, October, November.
Day 1: Bangkok – Paro.
Arrive Paro. Afternoon visit National Museum & Paro Dzong. Evening at stroll around the Paro town. Welcome dinner and over night at hotel.
Day 2: Paro - Thimphu.
Drive to Thimphu.Hike to Wangditshe. (1hr. 30minutes), then visit Mothithang mini zoo, to see the Takin, the National animal of Bhutan, Drupthop Lhakhang – the nunnery and Folk Heritage museum. Luch at hotel Thimphu. After lunch visit painting school, National Library and weaving center. Evening visit Tashichho dzong, emporium and stroll around the Thimphu town. Over night stay at hotel Thimphu.
Day 3: Thimphu – Bumthang.
Drive to Bumthang. The drive will take about 8hours. You will be surprised by the change of vegetation quite often. En route visit 108 Druk Wangyel Chhorten. We will be passing by three pass, Dochula pass (3150 m), Pelela pass (3420 m) and Yotongla pass (3425 m). Dinner and over night stay at hotel Bumthang.
Day 4: Bumthang Halt.
Sightseeing in Bumthang – like visit to Jampay Lhakhang, Kurjey Lhakhang, Jakar Dzong in the morning. In the afternoon visit Tamshing Lhakhang, Konchosum Lhakhang and Bumthang town.Bumthang is comprised of four valleys, the deeply spiritual region of Bumthang is shrouded in the religious legend.
Day 5: Bumthang – Nganglhakhang (Start of the trek).
The car will take us till Thangbi Lhakhang-where our trek will start through the pine forest. Visit the Nganglhakhang (the Swan Temple) and farmer’s house. Over night stay at farmer’s house.
Altitude: 2800 m, Distance: 14 km, Time: 3 hrs.
Day 6: Nganglhakhang – Ugyenchholing.
Ascend gradually to Phephela Pass 3353 m, the highest point in this trek. We really enjoy the beautiful forest and scenic nature beauty. Over night at farmer’s house. Altitude: 2800 m, Distance: 20 km, Time: 6-7 hrs.
Day 7: Ugyencholing – Jakar/Bumthang (end of the trek). Today visit Ugyenchholing museum and Mebar Tsho, (The Burning Lake). Over night in hotel Bumthang.
Day 8: Bumthang – Punakha.
Early in the morning drive to Punakha. On reaching visit Punakha Dzong. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay in Hotel Punakha.
Day 9. Punakha – Paro.
Drive to Paro. En route visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest dzong built by Zhabdrung Rinpoche and Tachogang lhakhang. Evening visit farmer’s house at Paro for dinner, Suja (Butter Tea) and Ara (Local Alchol), and overnight stay if you wish to or overnight stay in hotel Paro.
Day 10: Paro Halt.
Hike to Taktshang Goenpa. Afternoon visit Drukgyel dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang. Evening cultural show by the group of singers for about 1hour. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 11: Paro – Bangkok.
Morning drive to Paro International airport for your onward flight to your next destination. Thank You and Tashi Delek.
