Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: San Jose. Upon arrival to international airport, our driver will pick you up and will take you to Sleep Inn hotel or similar in San Jose for lodging.

Day 2: Tortuguero National Park. A guide from Mawamba Lodge will pick you up and will take you through the Braulio Carrillo National Park on the way to our Caribbean Region. The trip offers beautiful green landscape with some of the most exotic plants of Costa Rica. Enjoy a typical breakfast on the way to Caño Blanco dock. At Caño Blanco, you will board the covered boat to the lodge, passing the Tortuguero canals arriving between 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

At the lodge our staff will be waiting for you with a refreshing cocktail, your rooms will be assigned and the guide will explain the afternoon activities after lunch which includes guided hiking tour at the hotel´s property (Butterfly garden, explore Tortuguero, land of incredible biological diversity; where at night, from July to September, impressive Green Sea Turtles nest on the beach.

A tropical sanctuary for more than 300 different species of birds and natural habitat for an amazing array of wildlife; such as monkeys, crocodiles and iguanas, among many others. Discover the lush vegetation that abounds in the midst of the Rainforest. Tortuguero, is a navigable network of lake and canals that cross the National Park from Southeast to Northwest and accessible only by land, boat or air. The are no roads to get here!.

Day 3: Tortuguero National Park. Optional 6:15 am tour to admire the awakening of the wildlife of Tortuguero. (this tour is not included within this package, price if $25.00 if you want to take it) Around 2:00 p.m. you will have the boat tour to admire the canals of Tortuguero National Park. This is a wonderful and interesting experience where you can see abundant flora and fauna of Tortuguero National Park. Return to the lodge for lunch and free time for a siesta, enjoy the pool or go for a walk to the beach. Dinner at the lodge and free night.

Day 4: Selva Bananito Lodge. After breakfast we will begin our trip back to the dock at Caño Blanco. Continue the trip by van to Siquirres where a shuttle transportation service will take you to your next adventure… Selva Bananito Lodge. We suggest to eat a snack at Caribbean Dish Restaurant where you will be dropped off by Mawamba. Selva Bananito Lodge and Reserve is located on a family farm.

The reserve covers two thirds of the farm and consists of primary rain forest. It shares borders with Area de Conservacion La Amistad (La Amistad Biosphere Reserve), Central America's largest protected wilderness expanse, which consists of national and international parks and reserves. This area remains one of the least explored territories in the region, its biological wealth only partially known.

Lodging will be offered at a superior room. All meals and activities will be included during your stay. One third of the family land (about 416 hectares or 1,000 acres) is devoted to low-impact, sustainable agriculture and cattle management. Selva Bananito was awarded as one of the World´s10 Best Eco-Lodges, “The Most beautiful Bedroom in the Rainforest” and “A Tropical Night Symphony“.

Day 5: Selva Bananito Lodge. The Ecolodge Selva Bananito is today an extraordinary example for ecotourism: nature and adventure tourism services nestled in a pristine region of Costa Rica’s Caribbean area, the Talamanca Mountains. Our Private Reserve, Selva Bananito, is an important buffer zone or transition area to the “International Park La Amistad”. Finally, Selva Bananito has been a pioneer in the implementation of C-Neutral programs to mitigate the CO2 emissions caused by their client´s flights to Costa Rica. We invite you to be part of this important initiative for a better world. Includes: (B. L, D).

Day 6: Selva Bananito Lodge. Prepare yourself to enjoy a full adventure experience in the rainforest. During your stay in our property we offer a package full of activities which includes: Tree Climbing, Horseback Riding, Rappel at Morpho Waterfall/100 feet height. If for some reasons the waterfall tour could not be operated, we will offer instead a natural history hike and Platform observation with rappel. The activities will be scheduled by the lodge upon arrival.

Day 7: Puerto Viejo. Enjoy a delicious breakfast. Around 11:00 a.m. you will be taken to Salon Delia where a shuttle transportation service will take you to the beautiful Puerto Viejo Beach. Lodging will be offered at Namuwoki Hotel. Located in Limon province on the shores of the Caribbean Sea, Puerto Viejo de Talamanca is a beach lover’s paradise.

Here amidst the exotic flora and fauna, lies a vibrant seaside town with gorgeous beaches, crystal clear blue waters, and some of the most amazing surfing opportunities. Fast becoming one of Costa Rica’s premier tourist hot spots, many international surfers come here from all over the world to ride the famed Salsa Brava waves, making this Caribbean influenced town is a ‘must visit’ place when in Limon.

Simply known as Puerto Viejo this bustling town lies 34 miles south east of Puerto Limon, and 10.2 miles south of Cahuita. Formerly a quiet little fishing village, Puerto Viejo has a charm that is all its own. Becoming increasingly popular, especially with the young hip crowd, this town is among the top rated surfing destinations of the world.

With its relaxed atmosphere and its own unique blend of Latino, Afro-Caribbean and Bribri indigenous cultures, Puerto Viejo is a lively place to have a fun relaxing vacation. Lodging will be offered at Namuwoki Lodge. Enjoy one of their comfortable boungalows surrounded by exotic gardens.

Day 8: Free day in Puerto Viejo. Day at leisure to enjoy this beautiful paradise. We suggest visiting nearby beach of Punta Uva and Manzanillo. The hotel offers several optional tours such as the visit to Indigenous Reserve at Bribri Community and others.

Day 9: San José. Breakfast. Free morning to enjoy at the zone. Shuttle transportation to San Jose, one night lodging at Sleep Inn Hotel or similar. Note: We can also offer today an exciting White Water Rafting tour at Pacuare River and transfer to San Jose at the end for an extra charge of $40.00 per person.

Day 10: Departure. Breakfast. Airport transfer according to your flight departure. We can ad an extension to any other zone of Costa Rica.
