Most significant sanctuaries, churches and shrines in Croatia are: Marija Bistrica – Bistrica Mother Mary, Lobor – Mary of the Hills, Trski Vrh – Mary of Jerusalem, Zagreb – Mother of God of the Stone Gate, Remete – the most faithful Croatian attorney, Pribic – Madonna of Zumberak, Aljmas – Our Lady of Refuge, Pleternica – Our Lady of Tears, Molve – Mother of God of Molve, Ludbreg – Precious Blood of Christ, Trsat – Mother of Grace, Lady of Trsat, Krasno – Mother of God of Krasno, Sinj – Our Lady of Sinj, Solin – Lady of the Island, Vepric – Croatian Lourdes.
Day 1: Zagreb – Hrvatsko Zagorje (50 km, app. 1 hour in the bus)
Transfer from the Zagreb airport to the centre of Zagreb, the capital of the Republic of Croatia. Visit to the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the central Croatian church, located on Kaptol in the city centre. The cathedral is the most monumental sacral building in Croatia, built in the Neo-Gothic style. Possibility to attend Holy Mass. Visit to "the most faithful Croatian attorney" in Remete, The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Carmelites are guardians of the sanctuary who try to keep Remete an oasis of peace and prayer. Driving to the hotel by choice. Accommodation in the hotel. Dinner, overnight.
Day 2: Marija Bistrica – Lobor – Trski Vrh (100 km, app. 2 hours in the bus)
Breakfast. Sightseeing of the Croatian national sanctuary – Marija Bistrica, possibility to attend the Holy Mass and the Way of the Cross. Free time for individual sightseeing and prayer. In the afternoon visit to Mary of the Hills in Lobor, after the sightseeing, the journey continues to Trski Vrh and Mary of Jerusalem. Return to the hotel. Dinner, overnight.
Day 3: Ludbreg – Molve – Nasice / Osijek / Vukovar (370 km, app. 6.5 hours in the bus)
Breakfast. After breakfast we will continue to Ludbreg and visit the Shrine of the Precious Blood of Christ where Eucharistic miracle happened in 1411. During the most significant part of the Holy Mass – Conversion – when the bread transforms to the Body and wine to the Blood of Jesus with Holy Spirit activity – the priest noticed that the real blood was inside the chalice. Possibility to attend the Way of the Cross. Next we will visit Molve and the Mother of God of Molve. Driving continues to the hotel. Dinner, overnight.
Day 4: Aljmas – Osijek – Djakovo – Pleternica – Kutina (275 km, app. 4.5 hours in the bus)
Breakfast. Upon entering Aljmas, visit to the sanctuary of Our Lady of Refuge. Possibility to attend Holy Mass. The driving continues to Osijek – the biggest town of the Eastern part of Croatia – Slavonia. Visit to the Concathedral of St. Peter and Paul, built in Neo-Gothic style at the end of 19th century, which was sanctified by Bishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer in 1900. Our journey continues to Djakovo. The Cathedral of Djakovo, whose construction started in 1866, is "...the most beautiful church between Venice and Istanbul..." according to the words of Pope John XXlll. Next we will continue to Pleternica, visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Tears. Driving continues to Kutina, where we will visit The Church St. Mary of the Snow. Accommodation in the hotel, dinner, overnight.
Day 5: Kutina – Krasis – Bjelolasica (230 km, app. 4 hours in the bus)
Breakfast. Possibility to organize wine tasting in one of the cellars of the wine region Kutina depending on the group's wishes. The journey continues to Krasis (birthplace of Cardinals Alojzije Stepinac and Franjo Kuharic). Sightseeing of the Church of Holy Trinity. Driving to Bjelolasica, accommodation in the hotel. Dinner, overnight.
Day 6: Rijeka – Krasno – Sinj (430 km, app. 7 hours in the bus)
After breakfast we will continue to Rijeka, Trsat and visit the Sanctuary of the Mother of Grace, Our Lady of Trsat, in which the miraculous painting of Mother Mary is being worshiped. The painting was donated by Pope Urban V to pilgrims from Coastal Croatia. Next we will visit Krasno on the mountain Velebit and the Sanctuary of Mother of God of Krasno. The sanctuary used to be the most important sanctuary of the Virgin Mary in Croatia, visited by people on foot even from Krk, Bosnia and Dalmatia. Krasno is a village on the highest altitude in Croatia (714 m above the sea level). The journey continues to Sinj, with a visit to Our Lady of Sinj. Accommodation in the hotel, dinner, overnight.
Day 7: Sinj – Solin – Makarska – Vepric – Split (210 km, app. 3.5 hours in the bus)
Breakfast. We continue the trip to Solin, where we will visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Island. Replica of the oldest figure of the Virgin Mary called "Figure of the Virgin Mary of Great Croatian Baptismal Wow" is being kept in the church (original from 11th century is being preserved in the museum in Split). Next we will visit Croatian Lourdes – Vepric, near Makarska. The sanctuary was founded in 1908 on the 50th anniversary of the apparition in Lourdes. The natural cave and the surroundings appear very much alike to the Sanctuary of Lourdes, so it is visited by pilgrims who pray to the Virgin Mary. Return to the hotel, possibility to stop in Split and stroll around the city. Dinner, overnight.
Day 8: Karlovac – Zagreb (420 km, app. 7 hours in the bus)
Breakfast. Checking out from the hotel, driving continues to Karlovac, where we will visit The Church of St. Joseph in Dubovac. This newly established sanctuary was proclaimed The National sanctuary of St. Joseph by Croatian bishops in 1987. We continue driving to Zagreb airport where our journey ends.
