- 13 day voyage includes 9-11 days kayaking - Grade: Moderate - Departure: 25 Jun-7 Jul. We invite paddlers to explore the Kuril Islands and Kamchatka in the Russian Far East. These secluded islands and spectacular coastline are one of the least explored regions on earth. Using our expedition ship, the Akademik Shokalskiy, as our floating base, we venture forth on day paddles, sharing the water with inquisitive seals and sea otters whilst the air is alive with thousands of sea birds. The landscape is dramatic- snow capped volcanoes, hot springs, waterfalls and towering sea stacks. Paddlers will be amazed at the diversity of wildlife, the scenery of fire and ice and the remote kayaking opportunities on this amazing trip. Tour Itinerary: Meet at Sakhalin, Russia. DAY 1: Board ship, kayak briefing, set sail for Kuril Islands. DAY 2: Paddle southern Kuril Islands.. DAY 3-5: Kayak and explore Iturup, Urup and Chirpoy islands. DAY 6-10: Explore Sinushir, Yankicha, Lovushki, Matua, Ekarma, Paramushir and Shumshu islands. DAY 11-12: Paddles along Kamchatka's east coast. DAY 13: Arrive Petrapavlosk. Trip concludes. Notes: Cost depends on cabin chosen.
