The monastery complex is located in one of the very picturesque areas in the Centre of Moldova. The monastery was founded by Jordanian Curchi, a local inhabitant in 1765 A.D. The monastery ensemble consists of two churches and nine ancillary buildings with cells and abbot’s apartments and a small water pool. The ancient city Old Orhei - a unique natural and historical complex in the open air. It organically combines the natural landscape and vestiges of ancient civilizations. As a result of enormous archeological excavations here there were discovered the cultural layers of different epochs such as - the Paleolithic, Eneolithic, and Iron Age. The breathtaking visit to the cradle of civilization – Orheiul Vechi is followed by a stay at the rural pension “Casa din Lunca” situated in the Trebujeni village. We stop at a typical Moldavian family so as to learn at least a tiny part of the vast whole of Moldavian customs and traditions. We will definitely not leave the place, until we taste the remarkable Moldavian chicken soup called “zeama with taitei”, as well as another traditional dish “sarmale in foi de vita de vie” and vegetables collected directly from the garden. You will also have the pension’s special dish – fresh warm pies “placinte” served along with the delicious home-made red wine just taken out of the barrel. Notes: Price Includes:
