A challenging short break amongst Tenerife's giant peaks including an ascent of Mt Teide, Spain's highest mountain. Three full-day ascents are included, at altitude, led by a local resident who is experienced in walking in the region.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: On arrival transfer to the hotel. In the evening meet the the rest of the group and the walking guide who will outline the days ahead.

Day 2: Today is the ascent of the Sombrero de Chasna which dominates the views of the Las Cañadas Ridge. From the summit enjoy spectacular views of Vilaflor and the south coast of Tenerife. Press on towards the back of the Las Cañadas Ridge and take in views of Mount Teide and the stunning scenary of the National Park.

Day 3: Enjoy the demanding ascent of Guajara at altitude: it's the highest peak on the Las Cañadas Ridge at 2,715 m. The views are worth it however as the expansive summit allows unrivalled views of Mount Teide, the Las Cañadas National Park and the south-east coast. The descent to Vilaflor is via old goat-herder trails.

Day 4: An early start in commencing the journey towards Mount Teide. It begins by conquering the neighbouring Montaña Blanca (2,748 m) before continuing to the Ice Cave, located high on the slopes of Mt Teide. From here ascend to the summit where spectacular views of Tenerife and the neighbouring islands can be observed. Time permitting there's the neighbouring summit of Pico Viejo (3,135 m) to tackle before descending back to the base of the mountain and the transfer back to the hotel.

Day 5: After breakfast check out of the hotel for your onward travel connections. Walking: Challenging - Good fitness and endurance levels required. A challenging and energetic tour taking in several mountains. Therefore this trip is aimed at those who enjoy a challenge and are comfortable with big ascents at altitude.
