A 7 day tour visiting splendid gardens and some castles in southern Scotland.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Collection at Edinburgh Airport.Transfer to Dumfries with visits to local attractions en route depending on arrival time. Overnight at local hotel with Half Board (Dinner B&B); sharing in a twin or double en-suite room for the first 5 nights.

Day 2: Heading westwards to the private gardens at Ardwell House ; then visiting the gardens at the Dunskey Estate ,where lunch can be obtained at their "Season`s TeaRoom".In the early afternoon driving to visit the gardens at Castle Kennedy near Stranraer. Heading back to Dumfries we visit the private Glenwhan Gardens. Returning to the hotel.

Day 3: In the morning visits to the private garden at Stockarton House; and the gardens and the house at Broughton House - a National Trust for Scotland property at Kirkcudbright with free time in the town.Drive to visit the private garden at Corsock House and the famous Threave Gardens near Castle Douglas. Return to hotel.

Day 4: Heading south to visit the magnificent gardens and the castle at Drumlanrig Castle - with its superb art collection - the home of the Duke of Buccleuch KBE. Back to the hotel in the early evening.

Day 5: Heading into the Machars to visit the private Woodfall Gardens at Glasserton; then the garden at Galloway House. After lunch heading to visit and enjoy a tour round the Bladnoch Whisky Distillery and enjoy a taste of a "Wee Dram". Return to hotel.

Day 6: Heading into the Scottish Borders to visit Traquair House and Gardens; other local gardens and Scott`s View before returning to Edinburgh. Overnight locally with Half Board (Dinner B&B).

Day 7: Transfer to airport for departure;some local sightseeing if time permits.

Airfare is not included in the tour price.
