This program offers an overview of the Romanian history and traditions. The participants will have the opportunity to discover the authentic places and way of living in these remote areas. They will have the chance to reach inaccessible villages of unimaginable beauty. This circuit offers a complete image of the Romanian culture and includes also a short trip with off-road cars.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: (by car) Bucharest – Sinaia - Rasnov - Poiana Brasov - Brasov. We will leave from Bucharest and head towards Sinaia. We will have lunch in a location near the Peles Castle, in a medieval cuisine. After lunch we will visit the Rasnov Citadel and we will test our archery skills. In the evening we will taste Romanian traditional dishes and enjoy the atmosphere. (Accommodation in Brasov - one of the biggest medieval cities of Transylvania).

Day 2: (by car) Brasov - Sighisoara - Malancrav - Biertan. After breakfast, we will head towards Sighisoara, the only fortified citadel that is still inhabited and which is included in the UNESCO patrimony. Strictly connected to this citadel is the Count Dracula legend, as Sighisoara is the birthplace of the father of Vlad Tepes (Count Dracula). After visiting the citadel, the public road will end, and the off-road adventure will begin.

We will enter in the middle of the nature, on roads known only by the local villagers, in an area of rare beauty, untouched by human intrusion. The entire circuit will have a complete view of the Fagaras Mountains’ Peaks. We will cross this area and we will stop at Malancrav sheepfold that was passed on from father to son in the Vasile family. Here, we will have lunch, serving traditional and authentic food. Afterwards we will assist the shepherd in his daily activities. We will stop at the Unglerus household from Biertan. In the evening we will taste the Romanian traditional wines and international ones.

Day 3: (by car) Biertan - Richis - Albota. In the morning we will visit the fortified church from Biertan, a place of historic importance. Then we will go to Richis, a village where locals are still preserving their working tools and working habits from hundreds years ago. Our circuit will cross hilly regions in an attempt to visit as many fortified churches as possible that are still kept in very good conditions. Our journey has come to an end. Back to Bucharest.

Day 4: Albota - Tranfagarasean Road - Curtea de Arges - Pitesti - Bucuresti (optional). Having in front of our eyes the splendid view of the Fagaras Mountains, we will head towards Albota Trout Farm, our accommodation place. Here, we will “fish” our dinner and we will spend a wonderful evening near the campfire and guitars songs. For coming back to Bucharest, we have chosen the alpine road Transfagarasan Road.

The view is breathtaking. We will visit the glacial lake Balea and afterwards we will have lunch at Piscul Negru boarding house, hidden in the forest of these mountains. After lunch, we will go to the Vidraru Dam. At your request, we can visit also the Poienari Citadel that is considered an eagle nest as we have to climb 1480 stairs to reach to it. If we cross through Curtea de Arges, we must visit the city’s monastery, founded by Negru-Voda.
