Tour Itinerary: Day 1; Pick up at airport, transfer to boat for a relaxing lunch on the River Danube. Drive to hotel, refresh and rest for an hour. Walking tour of cosmopolitan Belgrade, ending in the Kalemegdan area. Enjoy Serbian cuisine in ambient restaurant. Return to hotel. Overnight in Belgrade. Meal plan: L. Day 2: Breakfast, followed by tour of Tito’s House of Flowers. Visit the stunning Topola Royal Mausoleum, before driving to Borac to find its famous Hidden Church. Lunch. Start journey south, stopping off en-route for a sumptuous dinner in a converted antique house. Arrive at medieval Studenica monastery. Overnight in Studenica monastery. Meal plan: B, L, D. Day 3: After breakfast, short tour of Studenica monastery, then head on to the ancient Sopocani monastery, followed by the Muslim-majority town of Novi Pazar. Take a wander through the old town, visit the bizarre Hotel Vrbak for a quick drink. Lunch in local restaurant. Visit St. Peters 9th century church. Stop off in the mountainous region of Kapaonik for a short walk or coffee break. Drive to the spa village of Prolom Banja for dinner and overnight in family home. Meal plan: B, L, D. Day 4: After breakfast set off for Devil`s Town. Spend a few hours exploring this incredible and bizarre landscape of red steep peaks, somewhat similar to but much less visited than its famous cousin Cappadocia in Turkey. The peaks here continually crumble and re-form as nature flexes its muscles and the locals have many tales about the origin of this eerie place. Travel onwards to Nis and its grisly Skull Tower, erected by the Turks as a warning after a particularly fierce battle. Afternoon and evening free. Overnight in Nis. Meal plan: B, L. Day 5: After an early breakfast, leave for the scenic village of Rajaċka Pimnice. One of the many highlights of this trip is to join the locals in their rustic wine cellars. Enjoy delicious Serbian cuisine and fine Serbian wines. Visit the unique graveyard nearby. Afterwards, drive west along the Danube to Tekija. Overnight in Tekija homestay. Meal plan: B, L. Day 6: Breakfast followed by 1 hour boat trip on the Danube (weather-dependent) and witness rugged cliffs, shimmering waters and views of Romania. Afterwards, drive on to the imposing Golubac Fortress with its 9 towers, followed by Silver Lake (Srebrno Jezero). Have a relaxing lunch and take a dip in the mighty Danube. Afternoon to yourself.
