Next, we will have an adventurous day! We will do mountain climbing, abseiling, Tyrolese, and kayaking! Afterwards, we will pass through Rucar Bran Lane, visit the famous Bran castle and Curtea de Arges Monastery. Therefore, we invite you to join us in a trip that will offer you a unique experience and will give you countless stories for back home.
Day 1: (by car) Airport - Bucharest (accommodation in a 3-star hotel). What comes into your mind when you think of the capital of Romania? You usually think of Bucharest, as the little Paris, a city with a bohemian spirit. What about the medieval side of it? It is worth visiting, I can tell – visiting the old city center, with narrow streets and old buildings, the People’s House, nowadays known as the Palace of Parliament, having lunch in the oldest restaurant, "Carul cu Bere" (the Beer Cart) where traditional dishes will satisfy your tastes, and having promenades in the evening on the Victoriei Avenue, where cultured people used to take long walks.
Day 2: (by car) Bucharest - Ploiesti - Sinaia (by cable) Sinaia - Babele; (by foot) Babele - Piatra Arsa - Padina (accommodation in a 3-star hotel). On our way towards Padina, we will visit the Peles Castle from Sinaia, the castle of the royal family and the place where you can feel royal too. It was built between 1875 and 1883, when it was officially inaugurated.
Beside the great architectural value, the castle has brought many technical innovations: the first totally electrified castle in Europe, its own power plant, equipped with elevator inside, vacuum cleaner and central heating. From here we will go by cable towards Babele in Bucegi Mountains, one of the most impressive stone columns which resemble human figures, specifically of old women. This group of rocks with bizarre shapes is the result of the wind action which has eroded the limestone and the sandstone from which they are made.
Day 3: (by foot) Activities (accommodation in a 3-star hotel). The adventure day begins! After a healthy breakfast, we will go in a short hike towards Ialomicioarei Cave. In these area surrounded by steep slopes and pine forests, it was built a church dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul. The tourists may enter into the cave at a depth of 400 meters. The walkways are electrified and the access is done on wooden stairs. After exploring this cave, in an attempt to conquer the surrounding mountains we will climb and then make an abseil.
Romania has many and varied climbing trails based on the type of rocks, difficulty, wall’s height and accessibility and Padina is one of those places. Moreover, the entire area will be seen from the Tyrolese. The speed and the adrenaline will make you want to try it one more time. In the afternoon we will visit the Bolboci Lake on kayaks. Although being an artificial lake, it is still very beautifully framed in a wonderful landscape. A quiet and colorful therapy might be the reason and the kayak ride might be the pretext.
Day 4: (by car) Padina - Sinaia - Rucar - Bran – Campulung – Curtea de Arges – Targoviste - Bucharest (accommodation in a 3-star hotel). We will leave Padina Area behind and head towards Rucar Bran Lane which separates Bucegi and Leaota - Iezer Mountains, offering tourists a magnificent landscape. We will stop at the Bran Castle where we will discover the legend of Count Dracula, meeting two important characters: fictional Count Dracula and Vald Tepes, the prince of Wallachia.
Our next stop will be in Curtea de Arges where we will visit the most important pilgrimage and prayer place in Arges County. The visitor’s attention will be captured by the mural paintings in oil made by French and Romanian painters. The name of the monastery is strictly connected with the craftsman Manole’s legends that you will discover at the monastery. Our trip has come to an end! Coming back to Bucharest.
