Day 1: (by car) Airport - Bucharest (accommodation in a hotel, suggestion Siqua Hotel). After landing, you will arrive in Bucharest. Here you will visit the most representative sight - a relic of a time not too far from ours and a cruel memory for the Romanian people – the People's House, now known as the Palace of Parliament. It was raised on the spot of an old and charming neighborhood of houses to be the largest building on earth and a symbol of the communist power. Here you will hear the story of this monument. Now it's the second in size after the Pentagon and the luxury of the interiors is well known all over the world.
In the evening, we will have dinner in "Carul cu Bere" (the Beer Cart) that still keeps in the best way the history and the scent of the most cosmopolitan place in Bucharest. It is one of the most popular places in Bucharest since the 20's. Here our guests will taste the famous beer made after a special and secret recipe. Its architecture and the music of the full house have a special effect and remind us of the days when Bucharest was the Little Paris.
Day 2: (by car) Bucharest - Ploiesti - Sinaia - Poiana Brasov - Brasov (accommodation in a hotel; suggestion Hotel Oliver). On the way down to Brasov we will stop to visit the Peles Castle from Sinaia, the castle of the royal family and the place where you can feel royal too. It was built between 1875 and 1883, when it was officially inaugurated. Beside the great architectural value, the castle has brought many technical innovations: the first totally electrified castle in Europe, its own power plant, equipped with elevator inside, vacuum cleaner and central heating.
Afterwards, we will head towards Poiana Brasov, a well known mountain resort. While keeping the medieval spirit of the city, we will test your archery skills in a strong competition. This is the moment when lords and ladies will discover this medieval way of hunting and in the same time the archery as an international sport. Archery is practiced as a method of psychological, moral and spiritual development. A successful coup in archery is not only the arrow that reaches its target in the center, but the one that is in the middle of the target before being pulled. In the evening, before going to Brasov we will stop in a pinnacle point where you can admire the entire city from above.
Day 3: (by car) Brasov - Zarnesti; (hiking) Zarnesti - Zarnestilor Gorges - Prapastiile Zarnestilor (accommodation in a boarding house; suggestion Taverna Plaiul Foii). After a healthy breakfast, you will take part in a treasure hunt in one of the largest medieval cities of Transylvania - Brasov. Here we will hunt the architectural style from the old center of Brasov, and the most beautiful sights like the Black Church which is not famous only for its dimensions (the largest religious edifice in Gothic Style from the South-East of Europe), but also for the biggest bell and organ of Romanian Churches, the White and the Black Tours of Brasov (used for preventing the villagers when the enemies came closer), the Rope Street (the narrowest street from Europe which was created for the fire-fighters quick access), and the Schei Gate build to facilitate the communication with the villagers of Schei Citadel.
After lunch time we will start hiking on mountain trails through the Zarnestilor Gorges. The canyon offers a unique landscape with vertical walls, trees and plants in the same symphony where the eyes are pointing to the narrow strip of the sky located at 200 m above. We will cross the Prapastiile Zarnestilor (the Zarnesti Collapse), the impressive gorges situated in the North-East area of Piatra Craiului Mountain on the length of 3-4 km. (Optional: hike towards Curmatura Chalet - an important starting point for the trekking routes that requests a medium level of difficulty) (accommodation in Zarnesti or Plaiul Foii).
Day 4: (off road) Zarnesti/Plaiul Foii – Magura - Pestera (accommodation in a boarding house; suggestion Taverna Plaiul Foii). The adventure begins! Early in the morning the off road cars will wait for us in front of the boarding house (the cars will be driven by specialized personnel). We will cross traditional villages, visit traditional households and witness the process of making traditional types of cheese in a local sheepfold (this will be possible only from 1st of May until 23rd September).
In the afternoon, back to our accommodation place, we will test your hunter skills using another type of weapons. You will be divided in teams after receiving the necessary equipment and compete for the highest prize in a shooting range competition! Let the best team win!
Day 5: (by car) Zarnesti - Brasov - Bucharest. Coming back where it all started Bucharest!
