Buila Vanturarita National Park sparkling rocks erupt impetuously from the mountains. These lands are not widely known to tourists, therefore Buila Vanturarita Park still have an aura of mystery. It is one of the places where you want to come back because each time you discover something new. It is full of surprises, it is hard to conquer, but in the end you discover that it worth the effort.
Tour Itinerary: Day 1: (by car) Bucharest - Pitesti - Ramnicu Valcea - Horezu (accommodation in a boarding house). Our first stop will be Horezu Monastery, located in Valcea County, at the foothills of Capatanii Mountains. It is the most representative construction of the Brancovenesc style. A place of worship, build during Constantin Brancoveanu reign, Horezu Monastery is now included in the UNESCO patrimony. Next, we will visit Maldaresti Museum which is placed in a picturesque landscape. It brings together the Greuceanu Duca’s vestiges and I.G. Duca’s Memorial House, both outstanding monuments of Romanian architecture where history blends with legends. After lunch we will admire the pottery of Horezu, a millenary tradition. At the beginning it was a complementary activity, but in time the most talented have specialized in the ceramics work of art (accommodation in a boarding house). Day 2: (by car) Horezu – Costesti – Cacova Mountain – Piatra Mountain - Curmatura Builei (accommodation in tents or in a shelter). Today we will enter into the wonder world of Buila Vanturarita National Park. Although the smallest National park of Romania, due to its insularity and difficult accessibility, many aspects of the natural heritage were kept unchanged. The natural habitat, untouched forests, many species of flora and fauna, mineralogical and paleontological sites, caves, etc are the most valuable and more attractive elements of the park. This is the main mountain trail that crosses the Buila-Vanturarita main ridge. Here we will we will admire the northwestern cliffs of the Cacova Mountain. In the evening we will reach the Curmatura Builei Refuge were we will stay overnight. Day 3: (by foot) Curmatura Builei – Buila-Vanturarita Peak – Cheia hut (accommodation in Cheia hut). Today we will reach the highest peak of the National Park in Vanturarita Peak (1885 m). From here we can see the entire Mountains chain and admire their beauty in the silence that surrounds us. At the end of the day we will reach the Cheia hut where we will rest for the next day trip. Day 4: (by foot) Cheia Hut – Recea Gorges – Pahomie Hermitage – Iezer Hermitage – Baile Olanesti (accommodation in a boarding house). In the morning you can test your climbing skills as Buila Vanturarita is a very important place to practice climbing. Depending on the weather conditions we will either follow the water stream or follow a path carved in the mountain slope. No matter the choice, our effort will be rewarded by the landscape. Moreover, we will visit the Iezer and Pahomie Hermitages, isolated by the civilization in the mountains heart. In the evening we will accommodate in Baile Olanesti. Day 5: (by car) Baile Olanesti - Ramnicu Valcea - Pitesti - Bucharest. Coming back to Bucharest. Member discount: Notes: Price:
