Day 1: Bucharest – Pitesti – Ramnicu Valcea – Horezu (visit the Hurezi Monastery with accommodation in a guest house). Starting the route: Bucharest – Pitesti – Ramnicu Valcea – Horezu. Once arrived in Horezu, we will visit the Hurezi Monastery, the most representative architectural monument belonging to the Brancovenesc style, built at the beginning of the 18th century and being a part of UNESCO heritage. After visiting the monastery, we will accommodate in one of the guest houses nearby. Horezu is one of the most famous pottery regions in Romania. Therefore, we will be able to take part in a pottery workshop.
Day 2: Horezu – Maldaresti (visit the local Museum) – the Oltet Gorges (sightseeing and a picnic in a picturesque site) – Petrimanu (visit the dam and the lake) – Ciunget (visit the hydro-electric plant, with accommodation in a nearby guest house). We leave early so that we can visit the traditional architecture in Maldarasti, which is unique in the entire Europe. From here, we will get closer to the mountains, entering through the Oltet Gorges, one of the wildest and most spectacular gorges in the Carpathians.
After lunch, we will continue our trail until we reach an altitude of 1615 m, where we will witness the beautiful scenery towards the Latorita Valley and the mountains surrounding it. After the descent to the Petrimanu Lake and dam, we will cross 20 km of the Latorita Valley, enjoying the breathtaking scenery. Further on, we will visit the biggest hydroelectric plant built on Romania's inner rivers. In the evening we will arrive at the hostel that will accommodate us.
Day 3: Ciunget – Lotrului Valley – Brezoi – The Olt Strait – Caciulata (visit the roman camp in Arutela, archery contest, special prizes, visit to the museum of Bujoreni Village) – Ramnicu - Valcea – Bucharest. We will leave early in the morning, heading towards the Lotrului Valley and the Olt Strait and afterwards we will visit the Roman camp in Arutela, a historical vestige dating from the conquest of Dacia by the Romans. Here you will take part in an archery contest that will end with many surprises. The tour continues on the Olt Valley until we reach Ramnicu Valcea, where we will visit the Village Museum – an important center of traditional architecture. This is our final stop in the circuit.
