The focus of the tour is Croatian history, both ancient and recent and the natural beauty of the Dalmatian islands and the coast. Stay for 5 days in a luxury resort hotel in the ancient city of Dubrovnik; then another 5 days in a boutique hotel within the 1700 years old Diocletian Palace in the marble city of Split.

Explore Dubrovnik's Old Town, hike among the spellbinding beauty of Pliltvice Lakes, visit the mysterious Island of Hvar, sail the Adriatic Sea on a galleon boat and tour the wineries to sample the delicious wines and seafood, then try sea kayaking on the planet's cleanest waters. In Split, explore the Emperor Diocletian's Palace, visit the ancient Roman town of Salona and the beautifully preserved medieval Trogir, then marvel at the famous bridge in Mostar, the point where the East meets the West. Throughout the tour, dine in carefully selected gourmet restaurants.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1: Our company's representative will meet you individually at the Dubrovnik International Airport at your flight arrival time. Private transportation to the hotel. Free afternoon for Personal time*, relaxing on the beach. Dinner at the restaurant overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Includes: (D)

Day 2: Breakfast at the hotel. Guided tour of Dubrovnik's Old Town. Walk around the city walls and along the Stradun Promenade. Visit the Franciscan Monastery, Orlando's Fountains, Sponza Palace, the Rector's Palace and the Dubrovnik Cathedral. Free time to explore the Old Town. Welcome dinner at the Dalmatia Restaurant located on the terrace overlooking the city and the sea. Optional visit to a jazz club/music concert if scheduled. Includes: (B), (D)

Day 3: Breakfast at the hotel. Travel to the mysterious Island of Korcula. Visit the intricately designed Old Town, Marco Polo's House, St. Mark's Cathedral with Tintoretto's paintings and the Land Gate. Free time for lunch and to explore the town and the beach. Coming back to Dubrovnik in the afternoon, take the Wine Route and stop at the famed Peljesac Winery for a tour, wine tasting and dinner. Includes: (B), (D)

Day 4: Breakfast at the hotel. A full day Adriatic Sea sailing cruise on a copy of antique gullet boat. Stop on Lopud Island to explore pre-Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance ruins scattered among the pine forests, then enjoy a grilled fish and wine picnic on the beach. Upon return to Dubrovnik, free evening for strolling in the Old Town, along the beach or Personal Time at the hotel. Includes: (B), (L)

Day 5: Breakfast at the hotel. A visit the Trsteno Arboretum, followed by a hike along the 14th century Great Wall of Ston. Touring the oyster cultivation beds and olive orchards. Lunch at a fresh oyster/seafood restaurant. Free evening upon arrival in Dubrovnik. Includes: (B), (L)

Day 6: Breakfast at the hotel. Personal time*; or optional, no experience necessary sea kayaking; or optional, no experience necessary Blue Trail horse riding trip. Afternoon tour of Konavle Valley including the silk tour. Regional restaurant dinner accompanied by folk klapa singers. Includes: (B), (D)

Day 7: Breakfast at the hotel. Check out and travel north to Split, stopping on the way at the Narona archaeological site (ancient Roman ruins), and for the boat trip in the Cetina River Canyon. Lunch at the riverside restaurant. Travel to Split and check into the hotel. Dinner at the hotel restaurant located in the Diocletian Palace courtyard. Includes: (B), (L), (D)

Day 8: Breakfast at the hotel. In-depth guided tour of the Roman Emperor Diocletian's Palace. Free time for lunch and to further explore the marble city. Afternoon visit to the perfectly preserved medieval town of Trogir. Guided tour of the town. Seaside dinner in an elegant restaurant in Trogir. Includes: (B), (D)

Day 9: Breakfast at the hotel. Ferry trip to the Island of Brac. Free time at the beach or to visit the marble quarry and the hermit's place carved out of the rock. Return to Split. Farewell banquet at Split restaurant accompanied by live medieval court music. Includes: (B), (D)

Day 10: Breakfast at the hotel. Private transportation to the Split International Airport according to your flight departure time. Includes: (B)

Day 10 with optional excursion: Breakfast at the hotel. Optional excursion to Plitvice Lakes National Park. Bag lunch. 3-4 hours walk on the boardwalks along the blue lakes and the stunning waterfalls. Boat ride on Lake Kozjak. Dinner en route back to Split. Includes: (B), (L), (D)

Monday, September 25 with optional extension: Breakfast at the hotel. Private transportation to the airport according to your flight departure time. Includes: (B)
