Picture this….It’s a fresh start from Geneva, with the fresh air from the mountains on your side, you will easily glide up the left bank mounted on Swiss land, in your reach, to the left will be the French Jura mountains towering over you. Take a look to the right and the reflection of your bike will glisten upon the Swiss lake.
Roll on up to the charming town of Rolle and transform from roads to water, it’s a new way to travel with your bike…across the lake! Your destination is France. Our itinerary will finally take you to the most western part of Switzerland, so close to Geneva, yet you'll feel a million miles away from the Cosmopolitan city. Tour Itinerary: Thursday: Arrive in Geneva – Ride to Yvoire or Anthy-sur-Leman (57 km or 35.4 miles) It’s a day of medieval festive frolics. You glide across the east façade and pass through picturesque towns by the lake; such as Coppet. You can visit the medieval Château of Coppet; its glamorous decor certainly portrays the rich lives of past royalties who have lived there. Pass under the arches and through the petite roads onto the medieval town of Nyon. From here you will hop onto the ferry at Rolle for a panoramic view towards the shores of Lake Geneva. You arrive in the medieval town of Yvoire, where you will settle for the night. The old charming town of Yvoire and surrounding villages offer pure beauty for you and your bike, there is a reason for it… Yvoire belongs to the “Les Plus Beaux Villages de France” (the most beautiful villages of France), a title that has so far only been awarded to two villages in the Upper Savoy region! It is most famous for its fantastic landscape over the lake, its quaint alleys and flower decorated balconies, it is simply a charming French village! Friday: Anthy-sur-Leman to the Saleve (approx. 40 km or 25 miles & cable car ride to the Saleve) You will take an easy ride through flat plains of striking vineyards, open roads and peaceful villages of Massongy, Ballaison, Loisin, Veigy-Foncenex, the two letter village of Gy towards the French village of Veyrier. Here, at the base of Mont Saleve, you will take the lift up 3000 feet to capture the best view over Lake Leman and Geneva. Just take a seat on your bike, take in a breath of fresh air and take a look at the panoramic view of the Alps and Jura mountains. Your accommodation on the top of the Saleve is the Relais de La Croisette, a quaint, homely rural guesthouse… you’ve never been so close to the stars! Saturday: Saleve to Geneva (approx. 45 km or 28 miles) You may ride down the steep mountain or choose to take the cable car down to the valley. From there, you’ll ride through vineyards and beautiful Swiss villages all the way to the Rhone which you will cross at La Plaine before reaching the wine-making villages of Satigny and Dardagny, ideal lunch spots! The return to Geneva is mostly done on bikeways. Notes: Priced at 350 euros per person. Single supplement is 60 euros. A minimum of 6 riders is required for this tour.
