Day 1: Nairobi. Upon arrival into the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi, and clearing immigration formalities, you will be met by the Ivory Safaris representative and transferred to your hotel for the night. The Norfolk Hotel is synonymous with Kenya's rich tradition of serving as a safari base for persons planning to visit exciting and exotic destinations throughout East and Central Africa. O/n: Norfolk Hotel - b, bullet.

Day 2: Nairobi/Aberdares. After breakfast drive north to the Aberdares, a mountain range on whose lower elevation is rich agricultural land and the upper sections dedicated as a National Park. The Aberdares and the Salient are some of the few remaining areas of the lush tropical forest locations in Eastern Africa. After lunch at the Aberdare Country Club, transfer to the Ark, a treehotel appropriately designed in the shape of a large wooden ship.

The facilities include an elevated open verandah allowing undisturbed views of the wildlife visiting the waterhole (floodlit at night). Visitors are encouraged to maintain reasonable quiet while watching game from the verandahs. Note: Pack only an overnight bag for the Ark-excess luggage will be stored at the Aberdare Country Club. Game to be seen may include: the Giant Forest Hog, Elephant, and endangered game such as Bongo. O/n: Ark-l/d/b, bullet.

Day 3: Aberdares/Ol Pajeta. Morning drive to Sweetwaters Tented Camp lying in the heart of privately owned 24,000 acres Sweetwaters Game Reserve enjoying magnificent views across the game-studded Laikipia Plains, and even Mount Kenya in the distant. The tents are built atop stilts to allow views of the plains and the waterhole.

Sweetwaters Camp

In the afternoon a game drive is scheduled with a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary created under the auspices of the Jane Goodall Institute, and a surprise photo stop. For the adventurous, it is possible to try out a camel-ride (at extra cost), but be warned that it will put a strain on some relatively unused muscles! Game to be seen may include: Grevy's Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe and Somali Ostrich. O/n: Sweetwaters Tented Camp-l/d/b, bullet.

Day 4: Sweetwaters. A morning and afternoon game viewing drives are scheduled. Game to be seen may include: Rhino, Gerenuk and Oryx. O/n: Sweetwaters Tented Camp-l/d/b, bullet.

Day 5: Ol Pajeta/Mount Kenya. A short drive brings you to Mount Kenya located at zero degree latitude on the Equator. The entire mountain above 9500 feet forms the Mount Kenya National Park and is a World Heritage Site. The Mount Kenya Safari Club located near the lower slopes of the mountain has various facilities for its guests including a tennis court, golf course, horse riding and swimming pool. The children may enjoy an optional visit to the Animal Orphanage located on the Club's grounds and the director of which is the actress, Stephanie Powers.

Alternatively, spend the day relaxing and enjoying the surrounding beauty. Night time temperatures tend to be cool so warm sweaters are recommended. For children, an early dinner is routinely arranged in a separate dining room (check with Reception for details), and they will be able to watch a video with other children in a small lounge while the adults enjoy a quiet dinner together. O/n: Mount Kenya Safari Club-l/d/b, bullet.

Day 6: Mount Kenya/Masai Mara. In the morning fly to the Masai Mara. Forming part of the Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara offers to the visitor perhaps the greatest diversity of wildlife in Kenya.

Kichwa Tembo Camp

You will be spending two nights at a luxurious camp with facilities which have most of the safari comfort amenities - comfortable beds, private bathroom facilities with warm water, high staff to guest ratios, fine cuisine, stocked bar, and more. In the afternoon a game drive is scheduled. Game to be seen may include: Wildebeest, Hippo, Warthog, Topi and Lion. O/n: Mara Luxury Camp-l/d/b, bullet.

Day 7: Masai Mara. Early morning and afternoon game drives are scheduled.
