Not only does the area offer stunning mountain landscapes and the chance to view wildlife, it also contains a number of cultural sites, including the Han Dynasty Tangluo Trail, remains of ancient temples, shrines and roads. Changqing Nature Reserve is home to 248 species of vertebrates: 16 species of fish, 8 species of amphibians, 19 species of reptiles, 154 species of birds and 51 species of mammals. Changqing Reserve is home to what are considered China's Four National Treasure's; the giant panda (Ailuropoda melanoleuca), golden monkey (Rhinopithecus roxellanae), golden takin (Budorcas toxicolor bedfordi) and crested ibis (Nipponia nippon).
Changqing Nature Reserve is located on the dividing line between the north and south climatic and biological zones. Because of it's special location, the reserve contains 2,039 species of seed plants, belonging to 762 genera. It contains 31 plant species that have been listed in the “red book” of plants on the verge of extinction in China. The reserve is also home to 311 medicinal plants. Your guides will be able to give you berries used in traditional Chinese medicine to try!
About Gaoligongshan Nature Reserve: The National Nature reserve of Mt. Gaoligongshan is located at boarder of China and Burma, in the west of Yunnan province. It occupied 405549 hectares. Gaoligongshan mountain is one of the key area of biological diversity both in China and globle wide. It is regarded as the A class nature reserve possessing international importance by World Wildlife Foundation (WWF), and UNESCO enlisted it as World Biosphere Reserve in October of 2000. It is also the corridor of immigration and melting pot of nationalities, where 16 ethnic minorities, about 300, 000 people resided here.
It is the unique geology and landscape breeded its rich biolocial rescources. Animals of 2389 types were discovered in Gaoligong mountain reserve, and 82 of them are in list of national important protection, which built the paradise of wildlife. Beast: Totally 205 species, 32 families, and 10 orders were found. Among them, rare beast are takin, Hoolock gibbon (Hylobates hoolock), Assamese macaque (Macaca Assamensis), grey-cheeked monkey (Cercocebus albigena), leopard (panthera pardus), clouded leopard, goral, slow loris, pangolin, rhesus moneky, stump-tailed macaque, Asian black bear, red panda, river otter, large Indian civet, forest musk deer, black musk deer, Eastern samber.
Birds: 525 species, 4 subfamilies, 58 families, and 19 orders were dicovered here. Those under protection are Sclater’s montal pheasant, golden eagle, black vulture, Mrs. Hume’s pheasant, Kalij pheasant, Satyr tragopan, silver pheasant, etc. Fishes: 49 species were reported here, and among them, the rare fishes are Atlanta manta, Lu River Schizothoracin, Schizothorax myzostomus, Burmese loach, etc. Special Plants: The unique plants rescources of Mt Gaoligongshan is quite rich, 434 species has been known, such as white Sim’s azalia, yellow azalia, photinia glomerata, rosa biflora, raspberry, sorbus astateria, bulbophyllum dulongense, calanthe dulongensis, coelogyne gongshanensis h. li ex s.c. chen, taxus, A1cimandra cathcartii, Davidia involucrata, etc.
Day 1: Beijing. Arrive in Beijing in the day time; upon arrival, receive a warm pick up from our local guide and then transfer to your hotel. We will stay in Lusongyuan hotel, which is the traditional court yard hotel in Hutong. This gives you time to explore the old Beijing as well as to help acclimate you to the local time difference.
Day 2: Great Wall Expedition Tour. Today we will head for the Great Wall in Mutianyu Section, which is far away from the heavy tourist track. Here we can challenge ourselves by hiking on the ancient wall, or just walk as far as we can! And it is also a great place to enjoy the quiet mountain of northern China. Just imagine that you can still hear the neighing of horses in the ancient wars. Return to Beijing city in the late afternoon, and enjoy the famous Beijing Roast Duck at the facmous Quanjude restaurant. Later, in the late evening we will take a boat cruise at Shichahai Lake to enjoy the view of the old city wall.
Day 3: Traditional Beijing Tour. In the morning our guide will take us to the grand Tian’anmen square, which is regarded as the political heart of China, and we will ascend the Tian’anmen Tower where we can enjoy a wide view of this most revered square. Then we will explore the Forbidden City. In the past 600 years, former Chinese emperors resided here making it both the living and administration center of the Empire. In the afternoon we will learn about the great iimpact of Confucius teachings in Asia at the ancient Confucius temple, followed by a walk around in the Temple of Heaven, where emperors used to worship for the harvest each year. You will enjoy the pleasure of walking around in the large park. After dinner, we will board the night train to Xi’an in the evening. Accommodation: Private cabin on the train, soft sleeper.
Day 4: Ancient Xi’an City Tour. Arrive in Xi’an in the morning; be picked up by the local guide on arrival. First we will transfer to hotel to have breakfast and a short rest. The famous Terracotta Museum naturally is the first destination of our tour in Xi’an. There we will inspect the Terracotta Army which was created over 2000 years ago. While there, we will visit a workshop where you will have the opportunity to make a terracotta warrior yourselves! Return to Xi’an City in the afternoon, and hike along the old city wall. The City Wall of Xi’an is the best proserved in China. We will also visit the exotic Muslim market where a variety of food and handcrafts can be seen and purchased.
Day 5: Xi’an - Chanqging Nature Reserve. In the morning drive to Changqing nature reserve in 4 hours’ driving. Meet with local rangers and prepare for the photo tours.
Days 6-7: Wild Animal Photography. We will use 2 days to catch the trails of wild animals with local rangers.
Day 8: Changqing - Xi’an. Continue the wild animal photography, and then drive back Xi’an in the afternoon.
Day 9: Xi’an - Kunming - Baoshan. Fly to Baoshan via Kunming all the day. Arrive in Baoshan and then transfer to hotel.
Days 10-11: Gaoligong Nature Reserve Photography. In the morning head for Gaoligong nature reserve and photos with local rangers.
Day 12: Baoshan - Tengchong. In the morning drive to Tengchong, which is well known for its volcano and hotspring. We will visit the Volcano geological park firstly, to know about the earch.
Day 13: Tengchong - Baoshan. And today we will visit the Hot spring- Photography in Gaoligongshan nature reserve. Drive back Baoshan in the late afternoon.
Day 14: Baoshan - Kunming - Chengdu. Fly back Kunming in the morning, and then transfer to Chengdu.
Day 15: Chengdu - Mt. Wawushan. Set off to Wawushan mountain in the morning, and then check in the hotel of mid mountain. In the afternoon start our birding around hotel.
Day 16: Mt. Wawushan Birding. Get up in the early morning to the summit of mountain, and watching bird and possible Sun Rise. And then walk down to watch the bird and arrive at the half mountain. You may see these birds:

Day 17: Mt. Wawushan Birding. Today we will get up to watch bird around Hongdong Shanzhuang, and descend the mountian in the late afternoon. You may see these birds: Coal Tit Parus ater, Green-backed Tit Parus monticolus, Yellow-browed Tit Sylviparus modestus, Barn Swallow Hirundo rustica, Japanese White-eye Zosterops japonicus, Brownish-flanked Bush-War Cettia fortipes, Aberrant Bush-Warbler Cettia flavolivaceus, Yellowish-bellied Bush Warbler Cettia acanthizoides, Spotted Bush-Warbler Bradypterus thoracicus, Brown Bush-Warbler Bradypterus luteoventris, Lemon-rumped Warbler Phylloscopus chloronotus, Large-billed Warbler Phylloscopus magnirostris, Blyth's Leaf-Warbler Phylloscopus reguloides, White-tailed Leaf-Warbler Phylloscopus davisoni, Golden-spectacled Warbler Seicercus burkii, Spotted Laughingthrush Garrulax ocellatus, Rusty Laughingthrush Garrulax poecilorhynchus.
Day 18: Mt. Wawushan - Bifengxia. Drive to Bifengxia Panda Breeding Research, which is moved from Wolong after the earthquake. You will see about 20 pandas of wild or artificial mated in the separate yards. Night in local hotel.
Day 19: Bifengxia - Chengdu - Shanghai. Drive back Chengdu in the morning, and then fly to Shanghai in the afternoon.
Day 20: Shanghai - Tongli - Shanghai (Tongli Village/Huangpu River Cruise)
Tongli is a river channels crossed villages and still remain its traditional culture. We will explore this water village in the morning. In the afternoon we will drive back to Shanghai. The night of Bund deserve our trying. And the night cruise of Huangpu River will leave us life standing memory.
Day 21: Shanghai City Tour (Jade Buddha Temple/Yuyuan Garden/Old town Shopping). We will visit the Jade Buddha Temple and Yuyuan Garden in the morning, and then walking and shopping in its old town in the afternoon,it’s a good chance for you to choose some souvenirs for your family and friends.
Day 22: Shanghai departure. In the morning we will head for airport, say “ Zai Jian “ to China and leave China with sweet memory.
