Day 1: Istanbul. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Balance of day at leisure.
Day 2: Istanbul: After breakfast full day visit to Istanbul. Visits to the outstanding monuments of Ottoman & Byzantine Empires, the Roman Hippodrome, Hagia Sophia (closed on Mondays), Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Suleiman the Magnificent Mosque and Grand Bazaar with over 4000 stores. Lunch at local restaurant and back to the hotel at dusk.
Day 3: Istanbul - Bursa - Canakkale. In the morning drive to Bursa, the first capital of the Ottoman Empire. Visit the Grand Mosque, the Mausoleum and Green Mosque. Lunch and free time in the Silk Bazaar. Continue to Canakkale, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Canakkale (Troy) - Pergamon - Kusadasi. Visit Troy, the famous ancient city of the 9 levels. The fame of the city comes from "Iliad" of Homer and the Trojan War with the Trojan horse. Lunch and continue to Pergamum, rival city of Alexandria in the domain of arts and letters. Visit the Acropolis, where, alongside the ruins of the Temple of Athena and the Library, highlights the Grand Theater with an inclination impressive and the Temple of Trajano. We continue to Kusadasi for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Kusadasi - Ephesus. Departure for Ephesus, the best preserved ancient city in Asia Minor which during the centuries I and II had a population of 250,000. This city monopolized the wealth of the Middle East. During this tour we will visit the Temple of Hadrian, the Roman Baths, the Library, the Odeon, the Theater of Ephesus roasted as well as the House of the Virgin Mary and the famous column Artemisio, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Afternoon return to Kusadasi and overnight.
Day 6: Kusadasi - Patmos. After breakfast transfer to the port to board the 3 night cruise to the Greek islands and Turkey. Afternoon arrival to the island of Patmos, where participating in the optional tour will have the opportunity to visit the Monastery and Grotto of San John, where he lived and wrote the book of Revelation.
Day 7: Rhodes. Today we visit the magnificent island of the roses, Knights and Butterflies. Participating in one of the optional tours, you can visit the old medieval city and the famous Acropolis of Lindos. If you want to be on your own you can swim in one of the many beaches of the island or just stroll in the old city and imagine being one of its inhabitants of the ancient times, Late evening return in the ship. Day 8: Heraklion - Santorini. New port, new places, new interesting sites in Crete. We will wake up in Heraklion, the biggest city of Crete, the island full of archaeological sites, beautiful beaches and fantastic scenery. Take the opportunity to participate in the optional tour to the Palace of Knossos, the centre of the Minoan Civilization. We continue and this afternoon we visit the most breathtaking island, Santorini, believed to be the lost continent of Atlantis. You can participate in the optional tours or just relax in one of the famous cafes of the town and admire the sunset on the Caldera, known to be the most famous.
Day 9: Piraeus - Athens. Early morning arrival at the port of Piraeus. After breakfast, disembark and transfer to selected hotel. Free day.
Day 10: Athens. Morning sightseeing tour of Athens including all famous monuments: House of Parliament, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Adrian’s Arch, Temple of the Olympian Zeus, the Royal Palace, the Academy, the University and the National Library. Tour will end by visiting the Acropolis and the new Acropolis Museum, “State of the art” in museum construction and very rich in content. On Mondays the new Acropolis Museum is closed Afternoon free to visit Plaka (The old Athens city) with lots of souvenir shops, restaurants and taverns.
Day 11: Athens - Airport. At the appropriate time, according to your departure flight, we will transfer you to the airport.
