- Tour duration: 10 days/9 nights - Track: 1900 km with car - Meal code: B-breakfast, L-lunch, D-dinner. Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Sain baina u ? (this means Hello in Mongolian). We warmly welcome you to Mongolia. Our staff will pick you up from the Chinggis Khan airport and transfer you to the hotel. Day 2: Drive to Middle Gobi (260 km). After breakfast, we will drive to Middle gobi where you will visit Baga gazriin chuluu, Sudutiin am, Jargalant cave and Tahiltiin valley. Baga gazriin chuluu is big mountain its natural formation is granite. Accommodation: Ger. Includes: (B, L, D). Day 3: White stupa (Tsagaan suvarga), (240 km). Today we will drive to the Gobi Desert. During the road you will see the landscape changing dramatically from the fertile grassland to the inhospitably rocky land. Accommodation: Ger. Includes: (B, L, D). Day 4: Drive to South Gobi (280 km). In the morning we will drive to National Park of Yoliin am (Velture valley). Here you will have opportunity for hiking in the Ice Valley of Gobi, the stunning landscape. The area, as part of the Gobi Desert, sees little rainfall. However, Yolyn Am is famous for its deep ice field. The ice field reaches several meters thick by the end of winter, and it is several kilometers long. In the past years it remained a year round, but the modern ice field tends to disappear by September. In rainy summers, hundreds of small waterfalls appear in the rocky walls. Accommodation: Ger. Includes: (B, L, D). Day 5: Drive to Khongor sand dune (200 km). Drive to Khongor Els, the largest sand dunes of Mongolia, reaching height of 800 m and 190 km. We will be riding on camels around the sand dune. Accommodation: Ger. Includes: (B, L, D). Day 6: Hiking over the sand dunes, drive to Bayanzag (120 km). After breakfast hiking tour to the highest dune’s point with fantastic view of Gobi landscape once you will be by the dunes. Afternoon we will drive to Bayanzag. It is an area of red cliffs which were formed by the erosion of sand and rock over many thousand of years. There, we will visit local dinosaur museum. Accommodation: Ger. Includes: (B, L, D). Day 7: Drive to Middle Gobi province, Ongi monastery ruin (180 km). Today we will drive to Ongiin khiid, the unique 17th century sole monastery at the heart of the desert. Hike around and visit the monastery. Accommodation: Ger. Includes: (B, L, D). Day 8: Drive to Karakorum, (250 km) visit monastery of Erdene-Zuu. Drive to Kharkhorin, the site of the 13th century Mongolian empire’s capital, founded by Chinggis Khan. Visit to the ruins and Erdenezuu Monastery, biggest monastery of 16th century surrounded by 400 m x 400 m walls build from the ruims of ancient capital city. Accommodation: Ger. Includes: (B, L, D). Day 9: Drive back to Ulaanbaatar city (375 km). It is time to leave Kharkhorin city and drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Once back in UB you will be transferred to your hotel. Includes: (B, L). Day 10: Departure from Mongolia. After breakfast, you will be transferred from your hotel to the airport. Includes: (B).
