This newly created trip by Shangri-La Adventure brings you for a very exclusive overland adventure to northern SiChuan, as far as with the borders with GanSu and QingHai provinces. RuoErGai, a county in northern SiChuan, is home to the massive grassland and the largest wetland reserve in China. At the town of TangKe, is where you will send the beautiful Nine-bends of the Yellow River, HuangHe JiuQu.

HuangHe, or Yellow River, is the 2nd longest river in China, and 6th in the world at over 5400 km. This trip to HuangHe JiuQu, or nine-bends in TangKe county, near to the source of the river which originates in QingHai province. During the summer months from July-September, vast grasslands and beautiful flowers sprout in the wetlands. The locals said it is the most beautiful time of the year.

RuoErGai HuaHu or Flower Lake, which will have fields of colourful flowers during the summer months from Jul-Sep. This attraction is en-route to LangMuSi, or Langmu monastery, a unique Tibetan monastery that is divided into 2 parts, 1 half in SiChuan and the other half in GanSu by the BaiLong River. It belongs to the Gelupak, or yellow-sect of the Tibetan Buddhism.

Another attraction is DaZangSi, or Dazang Monastery, a secluded monastery up in the mountains about 60 km from MaErKang. JinChuan, home of the beautiful Pear Flowers is also an important strategic town during the Red Army long march. In the months from end March to early April, JinChuan is filled with beautiful white pear flowers.

Day 1: Arrive ChengDu.

Day 2: ChengDu - MaErKang.

Day 3: MaErKang - DaZang Monastery - TangKe.

Day 4: TangKe (HuangHe JiuQu) - Flower Lake (HuaHu) - Langmu Monastery (LangMuSi).

Day 5: LangMuSi.

Day 6: LangMuSi - MaErKang.

Day 7: MaErKang - ChengDu.

Day 8: Depart ChengDu.
