Tivoli is a little town built on the side of a hill, a short valley descending gently between slopes clad in vineyards and olive groves, crisscrossed by country lanes and studded with red-roofed white cottages, golden colored ruins, several shrines and a small church. Then the wonderful Villa Adriana (UNESCO World Heritage site), a huge complex designed to house and entertain the emperor and his entourage and Villa D’Este conceived and commissioned by Ippolito D’Este II adorned with colorful flowers, beautiful fountains and trees inhabited by birds. Tivoli is important for the production of travertine marble, hand made coral jewels and for the “Pizzutello” a delicious variety of grapes! Here local food and wine are genuine and absolutely delicious! Is there a special place you want to go visit? Did you hear about a spot that isn’t on “the tourist trail”? Please, tell us!
