Leh is nestled in the snowcapped Himalayas. It is one of favorite destinations in Northern India. Leh and Ladakh offer the most exciting different tours in an exotic region. Leh is quite accessible to the tourists, where you will reach up to a clear blue sky from the towering mountains. The rhythmic chant of Buddhist monks in an ancient monastery can be heard from here. The Nubra valley, Khardung La, Pangong Lake and monasteries around Leh are the highlights of this package. Leh is where the escapades in Ladakh begin. Mountaineering, white water rafting and wildlife tours are main adventurous attractions. It is a hot favorite of the adventure enthusiasts.
Rumbak Valley trek starts from Leh where we visit many legendary monasteries of Thiksey, Hemis and Shey Palace. Thereafter, we will travel from Spituk to Stok on a journey of four days. Lying at a lofty height of 7940 meters, Ladakh offers a combination of lofty mountains, enchanting valleys and beautiful lakes!
Day 1: Local sightseeing. Arrival at Leh airport, to be received by our representative and transferred to the Hotel. Check in to the hotel for a complete day of rest wherein welcome tea and coffee will be served by the Hotel. After lunch visit Leh Market, Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa. Overnight stay in Hotel/Guest house.
Day 2: Monastery visits around Leh. A Complete day of visit to the monasteries (104 Kms). After breakfast drive to visit the Shey Palace, Thiksey, Hemis monasteries and Stok Palace Museum. Packed lunch will be provided. Return to Leh in the evening. Overnight Hotel.
Day 3: Leh to Pangong Lake (160 Kms) After Breakfast leave for Pangong Lake 14,500 ft, through Changla Pass 17,350 ft. (third Highest Motorable road in the world). Overnight stay in Camps/Hotel.
Day 4: Pangong Lake to Leh (160 km) After Breakfast drive back to Leh, enroute visit Hemis, Thiksey Monastery and Shey Palace. Overnight stay in Hotel/Guest house.
Day: 5 Spituk to Zingchen 3700 m (4-5 hours). Our walk begins along an old jeep road on very dry and exposed land, so water and protection against the sun are important! After 3 hours the landscape becomes greener as we go into the Zingchen Valley, where the Rumbak river flows into the Indus. The rest of the day will be spent enjoying the view and maybe even a dip in the river. Overnight home stay.
Day 6: Zingchen to Rumbak 3900 m (3-4 hours). Today we enter Hemis National Park, home to the famous Snow Leopard, Blue Sheep, Ladakhi Urial (a type of goat), great Tibetan sheep (Arghali), red fox, Tibetan wolf, wild dog (dhole), Lynx, marmot and mountain hare. We start to climb gradually up to village of Rumbak, through a beautiful gorge from which the Stok peaks come into view from time to time. Rumbak is known as a place to see and research on the magnificent Himalayan snow leopard. Drive back to Leh. Overnight stay follows at Guest House/Hotel.
Day 7: Leh to Nubra Valley (120 km). After Breakfast drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla (Highest Motorable road in the World, 18,380 ft). Arrive at Deskit by Afternoon. Rest of the day is free to explore Deskit, Hunder Villages and camel Safari in Sand Dunes between Deskit and Hunder Village. Overnight stay follows in Hotel.
Day 8: Nubra Valley to Leh (120 km). After Breakfast, we will visit Deskit Monastery and drive back to Leh by same Route, crossing Khardungla Pass. Overnight stay follows in hotel.
Day 9: Day trip Indus Grade 2 Plus from Phey to Nimo 35 km. An easy and beautiful ride on raft through a remote part of the Indus river, starting from Phey and finishing at Nimo after the confluence of Indus and Zanskar River. Overmight stay in Leh.
Day 10: Fly from Leh back to Delhi.
