Day 1, Thursday: Arrival to El Salvador. Meet at El Salvador International Airport and transfer to hotel in San Salvador. Overnight in San Salvador.
Day 2, Friday: Tazumal and Santa Leticia, El Salvador. Depart early towards Western El Salvador visiting it the Tazumal Archaeological Site within the modern city of Chalchuapa it shows some restored post-Classic structures as well as some Olmec style monuments. After a scenic drive by the El Salvador highlands, within a Coffee plantation, the Santa Leticia site has some Olmec “big belly” monuments carved in a clear Olmec style. Afternoon visit to San Salvador Museum of Archaeology. Overnight in San Salvador. Includes: (B, L).
Day 3, Saturday: Joyas de Ceren, San Andres and Cihuatan, El Salvador. Transfer to visit El Salvador´s UNESCO World Heritage Site also known as the Pompeii of the Maya World, which provides the unique opportunity to see how the people of Maya village lived during the Classic Maya. This village was suddenly buried by lava in the 5th Century AD. Continue with the visit to nearby San Andres Archaeological Site, a post-Classic Maya site with pyramids and plazas, some under restoration and the visit to Cihuatan Archeological Site, main Maya site in northern El Salvador. Overnight in San Salvador. Includes: (B, L).
Day 4, Sunday: Ta Copan. Morning transfer to Copan in Honduras arriving on time to join other Maya Classic or The Maya Odyssey Tours participants arriving from Guatemala City visiting together the Copan Archaeological Site. Includes: (B).
