This trip will allow you to experience both cultural and natural wonders such as hot springs, amazing bodies of water and the magnificent ruins of the Ancient Mayan culture. Guatemala is a country famous for its rich cultural and bio diversity, all of which you will be exposed to during this exhilarating and captivating trip.
Brief Itinerary: Day 1: Antigua – Flores Island. Day 2: Tika l - Rio Dulce. Day 3: Rio Dulce - Antigua. Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Antigua – Flores. We will pick you up at the hotel where are you staying at 8:00 am, and then we are going to drive for 3 hours. We will make our first stop in El Progreso where you can stretch your legs, buy a drink, or use the restrooms. After our first break we have three more hours until Rio Dulce where we will have lunch. Here we are going to have a beautiful view from the river and if you are looking for seafood Bruno’s marina is one of the best places. After our lunch in Rio Dulce we need to drive for 3 more hours as we head to Flores, in this tiny island where you will have an impressive vista from the lake of Peten Itza. Our ETA for Flores is 6:00 PM so we will arrive just in time for a beautiful sunset. Day 2: Flores - Tikal We will need to be ready at 7:00 am for breakfast which will have in our hotel. Here we can enjoy a beautiful view from the lake while we enjoy a lovely breakfast on the terrace. At 8:00 am we will continue our journey to the National Park of Tikal. Our is ETA 9:00 am and our private guide will be waiting for us. Inside of the park we can appreciate all different kinds of wild life such as the spider monkey, howler monkey, orange breasted Falcon, Woodpecker, Parrot, Jaguar, Deer, Toucan Collared, Ocellated Turkey, Danto, Crocodile, Turtles, White Nosed Coati. We are going to visit Complex Q, The Great Plaza, Temples I, II, III, IV, V, VI, Central Acropolis, The Window Palace, Lost World. After our tour of Tikal we will have lunch at El Remate. El Remate is small village where we can shop for some unique wooden handcrafts. After lunch we continue our trip we will head back Rio Dulce where we are going to spent the night. In the evening we are going by boat to Kangaroos Restaurant for dinner and here we can enjoy Guatemalan food, Mexican food and Australian food. Day 3: Boat tour to Rio Dulce – Antigua Starting at 7:00 am we will first have breakfast on the side of the river. Afterwards around 8:00 am we will go to Castillo San Felipe which is an old castle that served as a fortress due to the amout the pirate activity during XV century. After our time as this enigmatic place we will continue our trip by boat to the Island of Birds, a tiny island where the Cormoran lives. After taking some pictures we are heading to the Hot Springs where we can feel the change of temperatures between hot and cold water as relax in mother nature’s spa. Now we are heading to the Caribbean side of Guatemala, during this journey we will be able to see Belize. We are going to make a little hike to the 7 Altars (7 pools). Here you can appreciate the turquoise water that flows from the mountains filling all the seven pools. After we swim in the pools we are going to have lunch in Livingston and see the Garifuna culture. Here in this place we can try the traditional plate of the region known as Tapado which is a seafood soup with coconut milk and plantains.
