Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Leave Dhaka early in the morning for Manikganj, located about 70 km from Dhaka. Upon arrival check-in at the guesthouse and have lunch. After lunch drive to Baliati (28 km). With over 200 rooms, the Baliati palace is one of the largest and finest in Bangladesh. It was built by Zamindar (landlord) Govinda Ram Saha mid 18th century. A twenty minute walk through the picturesque landscape brings you to the Baliati Sri Sri Gobinai Mothe, a Hindu temple, and a Ram Krishna mission. On the way stop at the Eshore Chandra High School, the first certified high school in East Bengal. The nearby Pakutia Zamindaris or palace has been converted into a college. Return to the Proshika guesthouse for dinner. All food served here has been produced on their own property in Manikganj. Overnight stay in Proshika guesthouse, Manikganj. Day 2: After breakfast you are invited to visit the projects of Proshika HRDC Trust here in Manikganj. Among their currently operating projects are organic agriculture, tissue culture, apiculture and honey processing plant, sericulture project, shrimp hatchery, handloom.
