Maasai Mara Game Reserve: The rolling grasslands of the Maasai Mara offer ideal game viewing and photographic opportunities and the grassy plains are broken by rocky outcrops which are favorite midday resting places for Lions. This is where millions of Wildebeest cross the Mara River from the Serengeti National park of Tanzania to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve of Kenya – an annual spectacular event, which brings along thousands of plains game and predators to the Mara, making the park a beehive of ‘wildlife activities’. Some of the other animals that could be found here include Elephant, black Rhino, Buffalo, Leopard, Cheetah, Wildebeests, Zebras and Gazelles. Hippos and Crocodiles abound in the muddy brown waters of the rivers, which traverse this reserve.
Day 1: You will be picked from your agreed point and leave after a briefing by your driver guide. Drive south down the Great Rift Valley Escarpment into and across, past various mountains that were formed during the formation of the Rift Valley and the Maasai Town of Narok. You will arrive in Mara in time for lunch.
The reserve has a large population of wildlife that keeps moving from the lush plains of Serengeti (Tanzania) to the Maasai Mara reserve. After lunch you will have the afternoon at leisure then in the late afternoon embark for a game drive to be back in the lodge in time for dinner and overnight a Lodge/Camp.
Day 2: You will be woken up early, and after a cup of tea or coffee, leave for an early morning game drive to return to your lodge for breakfast. The rest of the morning is at leisure, or enjoy optional activities on offer by the hotel (at reasonable extra cost). Lunch and thereafter, an afternoon game drive in the Park to look for animals not yet found! Return to your lodge at dusk for dinner and overnight (as above).
Day 3: After breakfast, return to Nairobi to arrive by mid afternoon (kindly note that lunch on this day is NOT included but can be arranged on request).
