Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Zanzibar. Tembo House Hotel, 2 nights. Arrive Zanzibar Airport and you will be transferred to Tembo House Hotel. Tembo House Hotel is a converted 19th Century building with a colorful history that includes a former slave exportation centre and a brief stint as the American Consulate (in 1884). Today the hotel, located on the waterfront, has been restored with all rooms decorated in Oriental and Zanzibar style. The rooms are spacious and offer air conditioning, telephone, mini-bar, multi-channel television and en suite bathroom. The hotel has a spacious lounge facing the Indian Ocean. The swimming pool allows you to cool off during the heat of the day and there is a souvenir shop. The Bahari Restaurant features local and international cuisine and the front desk will arrange water sports, touring and picnics upon request. The hotel is Muslim owned and does not sell alcoholic drinks – there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Day 2: Stone Town and Spice Tour Zanzibar. Enjoy the morning exploring Stone Town at your own pace and then in the afternoon meet up with a guide to enjoy a Spice Tour. As early as the 10th century, Persian merchants migrated to Zanzibar and the Portuguese secured a foothold with Vasco da Gama’s visit in 1499. Later dreive to the Germans and the British. Over the centuries Zanzibar shipped out fortunes in ivory, rhino horn, gold, copper and spices. But to its infamy, it also provided the market for the great slave route that ran from Ujiji on Lake Tanganyika. Still today, these islands exude their own blend of African, Arab and European colonial influences, a rich blend offering great contrast to mainland Tanzania. This juxtaposition of ancient and modern culture is clearly seen in the characteristically relaxed pace of modern life where elements remain unchanged since the 18th Century. Overnight at Tembo House Hotel. Day 3: Zanzibar Holiday Beach, Breezes Beach Club, 4 nights Morning collection and transfer Breezes Beach Club for your 4 night stay. Breezes Beach Club is on the eastern side of the island and is set in beautiful landscaped gardens on an untouched stretch of white sand beach. In the shade of palm trees. Activities available from Breezes include various island tours, scuba diving and scuba courses, snorkeling cruises and the hire of bikes, windsurfers and canoes. There is the option of beauty treatments and massages etc at an excellent spa. Breakfast and dinner. Day 4: Depart Zanzibar. Transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your departure flight.
