India’s smorgasbord of wildlife is a magnet for any wildlife photographer. Commencing our tour in the bustling capital of Delhi, we make our way to world-famous waterbird sanctuary of Bharatpur. From our fabulously luxurious hotel we take rickshaw rides around the jam-packed wetlands that teem with waterfowl, pelicans, herons, storks, cranes, raptors, waders and migrant passerines. We then visit the fabulous Taj Mahal where we will marvel at the elegance of its design and the immense numbers of intricately carved and inlaid semi-precious stones that adorn its walls.
Our next destination in Kanha National Park in search of the magnificent Bengal Tiger, certainly one of the greatest wildlife experiences on earth. This was the setting for Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book, in which he wrote so vividly about the animals and countryside. The 940 sq km park consists of Sal and Bamboo Forests, rolling grasslands and plentiful streams. Our final destination is Bandhavgarh National Park. It is one of the spear-heads of Project Tiger and is home to a thriving population of these incredibly beautiful cats. We will spend 3 full days photographing Tiger’s and other inhabitants of the fabulous National Park, before finally ending back in Delhi.
