Day 1: (by car) Bucharest-Pitesti-Slatina-Craiova-Drobeta-Turnu–Severin- Orsova. On our way down towards Orsova we will visit today the Iron Gates Museum which includes the physical and geographical condition of the Iron Gates from the Danube Gorges Area, terrestrial flora and fauna, and the ichthyofauna of Danubian Iron Gates. Day 2: (by car) Orsova-Danube Gorges-Orsova. Today we will get closer to one of the most spectacular wild area from Romania, Danube Gorges, a sequence of widening and narrowing paths over 144 km caused by alternating rocks. You will be mostly impressed by the Cazanele area where steep slopes, hills, and numerous caves were formed. We will make a short cruise during which you can admire the spectacular scenery of the gorges and afterwards reaching the Ciureanu Peak we will see the landscape from above. Day 3: (by car) Orsova-Baile Herculane-Baia de Arama-Ponoarele-Targu-Jiu-Parang. Crossing the Cerna Valley, we will have the chance to admire the impressive landscape. Once arrived in Ponoarele Village we will explore the caves, the natural bridge, the Bridge of God, and the specific karst relief carved by the small rivers. In the evening we will enter the mountain area in the Parang Mountains. We will spend the night in the Parang Mountain Resort. Day 4: (by car) – Parang-Targu-Jiu-Horezu. Going down from Parang Mountain resort, we will head towards Targu-Jiu city where we will visit the sculptural monuments of Constantin Brancusi. Then, we will go in Horezu where we will visit a peaceful place situated at the foothills of Capatanii Mountains, namely Horezu Monastery. More than that, in the afternoon we will admire the pottery workshops and the craftsmen activity. Day 5: (by car) – Horezu-Curtea de Arges-Pitesti-Bucharest. We will leave our host and head towards Maldaresti Complex Museum which brings together the Greuceanu Duca’s vestiges and I.G. Duca’s Memorial House, both outstanding monuments of Romanian architecture, where history blends with legends. In Curtea de Arges we will visit the legendary Curtea de Arges Monastery. The legends of Manole craftsman will make you see the monastery from a different perspective. Notes: Prices:
