Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in Lilongwe and transfer you to the Lodge. Spend the afternoon on a tour of the city, including Lilongwe Nature Sanctuary. Stay here on bed and breakfast basis Day 2: After breakfast depart Lilongwe and head to Kasungu National Park on the boarders of Zambia, enjoying an afternoon game drive viewing both the unigue wildlife and birdlife of the area, before returning for dinner at the lodge on the edge of the Lifupa Dam. Stay at the Lodge on bed and breakfast basis. Day 3: Enjoy an early morning walking safari in the Park with a trained ranger, followed by Lunch and an afternoon game safari in a 4x4 vehicle visiting local cave paintings and old iron - smelting kilns left by earlier settlers. Day 4: Depart after breakfast and carry on north through the Viphya Mountain Range to Luwawa Forest Lodge tucked deep in the heart of the mountains. Spend the afternoon visiting a local community village with a cultural dance led by the community women, as well as taking part in various activities on offer such as mountain biking, kayaking, hiking or fishing. Day 5: Carry on north into Nyika National Park, the country's largest National Park and home to an abundance of small game and breaktaking scenery. Enjoy a brief game drive through the park on arrival en route to Chelinda lodge a beautiful lodge averlooking the valley, while the afternoon is spend on a comprehensive game drive within the park, returning for the dinner at the Camp. Day 6: Spend the day game viewing, hiking, horse riding and exploring one of the most beautiful National Park in the Country. Day 7: After passing throughh Mzuzu, the country's northern capital, begin your descent south along the Lake shore road arriving at the lodge in the afternoon, one of the countries newest lodges with stunning views of both the lake and the Viphya Mountains. Enjoy a number of activities including visits to local villages, volcanic hot springs, nature trails, birds watching, cultural evenings and boat cruises on the lake as well as scuba diving and horse riding. Day 8: Spend the day relaxing on the lake exploring the local area or taking part in any of the various activities on offer. Day 9: Carry on central, stopping at Nkhotakota pottery for the night on the Lake shore, where guests can learn how to make pots and clay arnaments in traditional African style or spend the afternoon on a slave trade, historical and cultural tour learning about the past histories of the area including 10,000 years old cave paintings. Day 10: After breakfast, we drive back from Nkhotakota (Lake Malawi) to Lilongwe International Airport in time for the International flight back home. Notes: Price Includes:
