Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: On arrival in Windhoek you will be met by your guide for departure via Namibia’s Capital City, Windhoek in a northern direction towards the Etosha National Park. An excursion on route will be included to the Okahandja wood carvers market. Continue in a northern direction via the small towns of Otjiwarongo and Outjo to Okaukuejo. Afternoon arrival at the Etosha National Park to conduct a late afternoon game viewing excursion to some of the numerous waterholes in the Okaukuejo Region. Overnight accommodation will be at the Okaukuejo Rest Camp/similar on a full board basis. Day 2: Today will be spent conducting game viewing drives in the central Okaukuejo Region. The park has recorded over 114 mammal species, 350 bird species and 21 different vegetation types. The most common plains game species encountered include; Burchell’s Zebra, Springbok, Black– Faced Impala, Blue Wildebeest, Gemsbok/Oryx antelope, Giraffe and Red Hartebeest. The Etosha National Park also boasts healthy populations of Lion, Elephant and Black Rhino. While in the park a visit will be included to the Etosha Pan or the “Great White Place”. Overnight accommodation will be at the Okaukuejo Rest Camp/similar on a full board basis. Evenings can be spent game viewing at the floodlit waterholes. Day 3: Departing from the Etosha National Park continue in a southerly direction into an area of vast unspoiled beauty. Damaraland boasts magnificent desert scenery, fascinating geological formations, archaeological sites and a unique variety of desert fauna and flora. It is also the southern most roaming ground for the rare black rhino and the “Desert Adapted Elephant”. Guided walking excursions will be conducted to the Twyfelfontein Heritage site, one of Namibia’s richest areas of rock engraving and san paintings and the geological formations of the “Burnt Mountain” and the “Organ Pipes”. Overnight accommodation will be at the Twyfelfontein Country Lodge/similar on a full board basis. Day 4: Today’s journey continues in a southerly direction through the southern Damaraland Region towards the abandoned mining town of Uis and Namibia’s highest Mountain Range, the Brandberg, before continuing towards the small town of Omaruru. Overnight accommodation will be at the Omaruru Game Lodge/similar on a full board basis. Day 5: After leisurely breakfast depart from the Omaruru Game Lodge on route to Windhoek via Okahandja. Early afternoon arrival at Okarumuti Game Lodge. Dinner included. Day 6: After breakfast, last preparations for transfer to airport for your departure. Notes: Price on request.
