Day 1: In the morning at 8: 00am, depart for Murchison falls National park from Kampala via Masindi to Paraa. Enroute, make a stop over at Bombo and Luweero town, have lunch at Nile Safari Camp. In the evening, take a nature walk to the top of Murchison falls which is the most stunning attraction, expect to see lizards. Get a chance to stand at a place where it rains throughout the year. Return to Nile Safari Camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: At 6:00am, go for a game drive at the Northern bank of the park. Enjoy the cool breeze on the ferry while crossing the Nile. Expect to see lions, buffalos and elephants. This takes 2 – 3 hours. Return to Paraa for lunch. In the afternoon, go for a launch cruise starting from Paraa to the base of Murchison falls. Enroute, expect to see crocodiles resting on the river sides, baboons, elephants and a variety of bird species such as shoebill stock crested crane.
Day 3: Get going from Murchison falls national park to Queen Elizabeth national park via Bugungu wildlife research, Fort Portal, Hoima, enroute, make a stop over at the King’s (Omukama)Palace and the equator. Arrive at Mweya through Kabatooro gate. Have dinner and overnight stay in Mweya Safari hotel.
Day 4: Take an early morning excursion to the Kasenyi area for a game drive. This area is known as the Kob mating grounds and offers great chances of spotting lions. Expect to see large herds of Kobs, Buffalos and elephants. Return to Mweya Safari lodge for breakfast. Visit the main museum while waiting for the afternoon launch cruise. In the afternoon, go for the launch cruise at the Kazinga channel; expect to see Hippos, buffalos, elephants and a variety of bird species. This takes 2 – 3 hours. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari lodge.
Day 5: Take an excursion to Kyambura gorge at 8:30am for Chimpanzee tracking for 2 – 3 hours, chimps are closely related to human beings. Have a 1 hour lunch break at the viewing plat form. After lunch, go for a game drive in the Northern crater area, a place full of dark lakes. Expect to see a variety of flora and fauna especially, elephants, kobs, lions etc. Return to Mweya Safari lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Get going on a journey to Bwindi impenetrable forest via Ishasha, this route offers high chances of spotting elephants, buffalos, kobs and a variety bird life. Make a stop over at Ishasha home of the mysterious tree climbing lions. Continue to Buhoma through Kihihi, Kanyantorogo, Butogota tea estates and arrive at Buhoma park headquarters for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: After an early morning briefing by UWA officials, go for gorilla tracking, this activity requires patience and endurance. These are also known as man’s shy cousins. Carry packed lunch. Take a trip back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Set off after breakfast for Lake Mburo National park via Kanungu, Rukungiri and Ntungamo towns. Arrive at Agip hotel for a lunch break then carry on to Rwonyo park headquarters through Nsanga gate also known for zebras. High chances of spotting kobs impalas, baboons, water bucks etc. Take a nature walk to the salty lick and then retire for dinner and overnight stay at Montana luxury tented camp.
Day 9: Set off after breakfast for a journey back to Kampala via Nshara gate. Enroute, make a stop over at the equator and get to participate in the water experiment to know changes in your body weight while at the equator. Continue and stop at Mpambire drum village a chance to buy a locally made drum. Proceed to Kampala arriving late for dinner and overnight in Serena hotel.
