Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Departure by light aircraft from Hosea Kutako International Airport on route to the Namib Desert and the Sossusvlei Lodge. The approximate flying time is 1 hour 30 min. Midday arrival at the Sossusvlei Lodge with some time at leisure, before conducting a late afternoon sundowner drive in safari vehicles. Overnight accommodation will be at the Sossusvlei Lodge/similar on a dinner, bed & breakfast basis, including one sundowner drive. Lunch today is not included and is for the clients own account. Day 2: Conduct an early morning excursion in safari vehicles to the Namib Naukluft Park to the famed Namib Sand Sea and to the magnificent Sossusvlei dunes. Once in the desert optional excursions are conducted on foot to photograph the dune landscape and the desert ecology or to climb some of the highest known dunes in the world. During the afternoon participate in a guided excursion to the nearby Sesriem Canyon. This is a small yet picturesque canyon carved over millions of years into the Tschaub River and served as an important water source to early travellers through the area. Overnight accommodation will be at the Sossusvlei Lodge/similar on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis including a Guided Sossusvlei Excursion and a Sesriem Canyon Excursion. Day 3: After a leisurely breakfast continue your flight crossing the Namib Sand Sea on route to the coastal town of Swakopmund. This route includes a scenic flight along the “Skeleton Coast” viewing the “Edward Bohlen (1909)” and “Shaunee (1976)” shipwrecks and Sandwich Harbor. On arrival in Swakopmund you will be met by a company representative and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the afternoon will be at leisure to explore Namibia’s premier coastal resort. Founded in 1892 during the period of German colonial rule it served as the territory’s main harbor for years. Today this quaint town nestled between desert and ocean is enhanced by lush green lawns, palm trees and carefully tended gardens. There is a good selection of restaurants and coffee shops selling traditional German cakes and pastries. Overnight accommodation will be at the Swakopmund Hotel/similar on a bed and breakfast basis only. Lunch and dinner today is not included and is for the clients own account. Day 4: Today can be spent at leisure, taking part in optional extra activities offered in and around Swakopmund i.e. Welwitschia Drive, Dolphin Cruise, Sandwich Habour Tour, quad biking etc. Overnight accommodation will be at the Swakopmund Hotel/similar on a bed & breakfast basis only. Lunch and dinner today is not included and is for the clients own account. Day 5: After a leisurely breakfast you will be transferred to the airfield for your flight to Okarumuti Game Lodge. Lunch, transfer to airport for your return flight.
