Day 1: Arrival day. On arrival at the Entebbe International airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver/guide from Nature Friendly Safaris Ltd, who will then transfer you to Kampala for overnight at either Serena Hotel, Common Wealth Country Resort Munyonyo (High end/luxurious accommodation), Grand Imperial Hotel, Royal Capital Palace Hotel (Medium class accommodation) or Fairway Hotel (low Budget accommodation).
Day 2: Kampala – Murchison Falls. An early departure after breakfast, driving North West of Kampala through Luwero triangle, with a brief stop at the Ziwa Rhino farm, to view the white Rhinos. Uganda’s Rhinos became extinct in early 1980’s, after a period of civil unrest and heavy poaching. The farm has now been established to restore Rhino populations in Uganda’s protected areas in the near future.
Lunch en route, then proceed to the top of Murchison Falls where river Nile explodes violently through a narrow gorge and falling a distance of 43 meters making a thunderous rain fall is a unique experience you can’t miss. Diner and overnight at either Paraa Safari Lodge (high end/ luxurious accommodation), Sambiya River Lodge, Nile Safari Camp (medium end classic accommodation), or Red Chili Rest Camp (Low budget accommodation). Approximate driving time is 5 – 6 hours.
Day 3: Murchison Falls. After breakfast, you will go for an early morning game drive following the Buligi track. This is the park’s prime savanna game viewing area, where you will have chances of viewing the big 5, lions, Elephants, Buffalos, Leopard and others like Hyenas, Giraffes, Uganda Kobs, Jackson heart beast Birds, sight seeing and many interesting features.
In the afternoon go for a boat cruise on the Nile for 3-4 hours, cruise up to the bottom of the falls. Expect to see a variety of water bird species, such as the Egyptian goose, Fish eagle, white cormorants etc, the Nile Crocodiles, Hippos, water bucks and Elephants quenching the afternoon thirst. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Murchison Falls – Kibale. Depart from Murchison Falls after an early breakfast and head to Kibale Forest National Park. Driving through the great East African Rift Valley. Kibale forest is the largest protected block of rain forest. Which has the highest number of primates in Africa such as Chimpanzees, Gray Cheeked Mangabay, Red Colobus monkey, Red tailed monkey etc. Relax in the evening and have dinner at either Ndali lodge a stunning location over looking a dramatic Crater Lake (high end luxurious accommodation), Ruwenzori view guest house (medium end accommodation), Primate Lodge or Kanyanchu tourist centre (low budget accommodation). Approximate driving time is 8-9 hours.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale. After breakfast, enter the forest in search for chimpanzees the experience is quiet exciting and adventurous. Expect to see other species of primates such as Baboons, Red colobus monkey, Black and white colobus monkey, Grey cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey, Birds like sun birds, Turaco, pitas and other bird species, butter fly species etc. return late afternoon for relaxation or an option of visiting Bigodi swamp. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 6: Kibale – Queen Elizabeth National Park. Depart from Kibale and head to Queen Elizabeth national park with a brief stop at the equator line for photos. Take a game drive on entering the park; expect to see Elephants, Lions, Hyenas, Leopards, Uganda Kobs, Warthogs and bird species. Overnight at either Mweya Safari Lodge, Jacana Lodge, King Fisher Lodge (high end luxurious accommodation) or Mweya Students Hostel (low budget accommodation).
Day 7: Game viewing in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Early morning game drive to Kasenyi area to look for the lion prides and other wild life such as Uganda kobs, Buffalos, Leopards, Hyenas, Elephants. Kasenyi area is refered to as the Kobs mating grounds and it in this place lions target to grab Kobs mating. Return to lodge for lunch break. In the afternoon take a launch cruise on the Kazinga channel where you will have a chance of seeing hippos huffing and spraying mere feet away from the boat, Buffalos lingering at the banks of the water, crocodiles and a variety of water birds species. Over night at the lodge.
Day 8: Chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura gorge. After breakfast, you will leave for Kyambura river gorge for an extra ordinary experience of tracking chimps. It is so enriching to see the ravishing river valley which is a home of many birds and butterfly species. Relax over a drink at the camp and proceed to Maramagambo forest for an exciting nature walk up to the bat cave and the unique blue Crater Lake. Over night at the lodge.
Day 9: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi. Depart from Queen Elizabeth and leave for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. With a game drive in the Ishasha sector which is in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Expect to see the famous tree climbing lions that can be spotted on the large fig trees and other wild life such as Topis, Buffaloes and warthogs etc. Overnight at either Mantana Tented Camp (high end luxurious accommodation), Buhoma homestead (medium class accommodation) or Buhoma community camp (low Budget accommodation). Approximate driving time is 4-5 hours.
Day 10: Gorilla tracking. After breakfast and briefing from the guide, enter the forest in search for mountain Gorillas. Bwindi Impenetrable forest is a home for the rare mountain Gorillas and about 650 individual gorillas left in the whole world half are Bwindi. Tracking may take 2 – 8 hours, depending on the location of the Gorillas. One may walk a short or long distance in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. A picnic lunch will be taken and you will only be allowed an hours stay with Gorillas. After tracking return to the Camp for relaxation. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 11: Bwindi – Kampala. After breakfast, return to Kampala with lunch taken en route either at lake view hotel or Agip Motel. After lunch continue to Kampala for dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Departure day safari ends. After breakfast, transfer to Entebbe airport to catch your flight back home depending on international flight departure time.
