Day 1: Experience the ultimate in adventure and nature for 2 days and 1 night at the beautiful organic coffee plantation of Yalu nestled in pristine and untouched lands. Upon arrival, we will load our equipment onto the horses and travel to the top of the mountain to set up camp. Once the tents are up, we will ride down the mountain to drop off the horses. Then get ready for an hour and a half hike to the top of the canopy. Once on top, light up the tiki torches and put on your head lamps, because the nighttime canopy tour begins! This thrilling tree top tour through the mountains includes five stops and over 1,375 meters of cable with only your headlamp and the tiki torches on the landing platforms to light the way! Guinness Travel is the only company in ALL of Guatemala who offers a nighttime canopy tour! End the night with dinner, marshmallows, and hot chocolate over the campfire. Day 2: Awake with the sun and a breathtaking view overlooking the farm and the surrounding village as you prepare for another day full of fun activities. We will eat a light breakfast, pack up camp, and hike back down the mountain. Once on the plantation, see how the people of Yalu produce their rich and flavorful organic coffee that is unrivaled by any other farm in the country. End the tour with a cup of Yalu’s finest and then see remainder of the village and learn how the indigenous people of Yalu live, eat, work, and play. And if you are feeling up to it, make a donation to help support the growth and stability of the local economy. Following this you will have your choice of two more activities of which you can choose from berry picking, mountain biking, ecological trail walking, horseback riding, or a tour of the dairy farm where milking the cows becomes hands on! A daytime canopy tour is also available, but for an additional cost. Once you have experienced all Yalu has to offer, you will eat a light lunch and travel back to Antigua in your private shuttle.
