Tour Itinerary:
Sample tour on the East coast.
Day 1: Beppu to Saeki on the eastern coast, 80 km. Mostly following the coast, a good warm-up day. Stay at a traditional old sea-side ryokan in a fishing village called Tsurusaki.

Day 2: Saeki town to Nobeoka. 90 km. Still follow the coast but the road rises to commanding views across the Pacific. Stay at Meinshoku accommodations on a small protected bay just north of Nobeoka city in Miyazaki prefecture.

Day 3: Nobeoka to Miyazaki city by train, because this part of the coast is not a good ride! From Miyazaki, we ride to Uchinoumi town south of the city. 60km day.

Day 4: Ride to Nichinan and leave the sea behind for a short spell, while. Our ride takes us over the 1000 ft pass to Miyakanojo, and a touch of civilization. 80 km.

Day 5: Miyakanojo to Kagoshima, via Sakurajima Volcano. From Kagoshima, many riders continue to the islands south, Yakushima, Amami or Okinawa. This can easliy be arranged, via ferry or airplane.

- Includes in-country transfers, tips, taxes, entry fees, and luggage transports. Bikes available for rent, or bring your own.
