Day 1: Mikulov. Transfer from Prague (or Vienna or Linz) to Mikulov, a town of wine and history. Meet your travel guide, prepare the bicycles, get acquainted with the program, receive the information material and maps. Tour of town with guide. Overnight in Mikulov.
Day 2: Mikulov – Valtice - Lednice – Mikulov (51 km/32 miles). The first day of biking sets out through the flat and gently rolling hills around Valtice-Lednice with breath-taking castles set into the romantic landscape. The route enters the hilly area of the Pálava Protected Landscape Area with its archeological areas in Dolní Vestonice, past vineyards and orchards, and back to Mikulov. The day offers several opportunities to taste excellent local wines. Overnight in Mikulov.
Day 3: Mikulov – Znojmo (60 km/38 miles). This day takes us along flat terrain along the Austrian border and the Dyje (Thaya) River. The route leads along the Greenways route to Znojmo, another wine-making region with a rich history. Another possibility is to cross the border in Mikulov and continue along the Austrian wine route „Weinviertlradweg“ with occasional wine-tasting stops at Laa an der Thaya and Šanov, where you continue to Znojmo by train. Overnight in Znojmo.
Day 4: Znojmo – Vranov nad Dyjí (43 km/27 miles). In the midst of wineyards and wine cellars, enter the Podyjí National Park. This relatively short but interesting route leads through the picturesque Dyje River valley with magnificent views into the countryside. En route you can stop off at the Nový Hrádek (New Castle) ruins and enjoy the atmosphere here. The trip finishes in Vranov nad Dyjí with its dominant castle perched above the Vranovska Lake. Overnight in Vranov nad Dyjí.
Day 5: Vranov nad Dyjí - Slavonice - Telc (67 km /2 miles). We leave the Dyjí River and ride through an open, slightly hilly landscape to the edge of the Czech-Moravian Highlands to Slavonice, a small town full of Renaissance homes with rich sgrafitto and finely decorated interiors. Then we continue to another UNESCO´s pearl - renaissance Telc. Overnight in Telc.
Day 6: Telc – Jindrichuv Hradec (47 km/29 miles). Today provides us with a magnificent route leading through the wild nature of „Czech Canada“ into Jindrichuv Hradec, a historic town with a Renaissance castle. Overnight in Jindrichuv Hradec.
Day 7: Jindrichuv Hradec – Trebon (44 km/28 miles). Today we ride through a countryside of lakes and pine groves. This landscape is full of romantic little nooks, meadows surrounded by forests, and a sandy-bottomed swimming hole. In the afternoon we ride to Trebon, the center of Czech fishing as well as a town rich in Renaissance architecture with its own castle.
Day 8: Trebon – Ceský Krumlov (75 km/47 miles). The seventh day of cycling leads through the flat Trebon lowlands amidst its largest lakes to Hluboká nad Vltavou, home of the Czech Republic's most beautiful castle. Pass through the gentle landscape around lakes to Holašovice, a village recognized by UNESCO for its well-preserved rustic Baroque architecture. Continue through the Blanský Forest Protected Landscape Area to Ceský Krumlov around Klet, the tallest mountain of Blanský Forest, offering a possible view to the Austrian Alps from its lookout tower.If you feel tired don´t hesitate to use shuttle transfer for free! Ceský Krumlov (UNESCO) is one of the best preserved historic villages in Bohemia with a number of historic and cultural monuments, winding streets, locally renowned restaurants, and a rich cultural life. Overnight in Ceský Krumlov.
Day 9: Ceský Krumlov – Zlatá Koruna – Dívcí Kámen – Ceský Krumlov (15 km/10 miles by boat and 33 km/20 miles by bike). This day you can relax on boat and enjoy the most beautiful part of Vltava river from Cesky Krumlov to Zlata Koruna . Don´t forget to stop for refreshment ( pivko and utopenec ) at any stylish pub along the river ! After short visit of monastery Zlata Koruna you will cycle throughout nature reserve to ruins of castle Divci Kamen and back to Cesky Krumlov. Night tour with guide, overnight in Ceský Krumlov.
Day 10: Lipno - Vyšší Brod – Svatý Tomáš (47 km/29 miles). First we take you via minibus to village Lipno, where you will start your cycling day. The route takes you through the Vltava River valley, through the Devil´s Wall Nature Park with its impressive rock cliff formations to Vyssi Brod . After visit of monastery and short refreshment starts a bit more difficult part of the day. It leads you through hilly terrain around the peat moss bogs to the top of St. Tomáš, where a broad view of the Lake Lipno region and northern Austria awaits you at the top of the hill. Overnight in Svatý Tomáš.
Day 11: Svatý Tomáš – Horní Planá (43 km/27 miles). You can tailor this day to your own preferences. The route leads along the Schwarzenberg Canal, a technical monument to lumber transport, and you can decide for yourself how long you wish to cycle.Overnight in Horní Planá, a center of activities for Lake Lipno.
Day 12: Horní Planá – Ceský Krumlov (34 km/21 miles). Today we say Na shledanou to the virgin landscape of Šumava and Lipno lake from the board of catamaran. Enjoy your sailing on the lake ! Then continue on bike across the restricted MTA Boletice, stop off at the newly reconstructed church of St. Mikuláš, and continue to Ceský Krumlov, where you spend the last night of your trip.
Day 13: Ceský Krumlov. Enjoy your last day in Cesky Krumlov and choose from these different activities: boat trip on Vltava river, kick bike ride from hill Klet to Cesky Krumlov or guided tour of brewery Eggenberg. Transfer by coach to Prague (Vienna or Linz) later afternoon.
