Depart for Murchison Falls National Park through Uganda’s beautiful green undulating countryside via Masindi town to Para. Have late lunch at Nile Safari Camp. In the evening, take a nature walk to the top of Murchison Falls. Murchison falls is the most stunning attraction; a point where the waters of the mighty Nile squeeze and burst majestically through a 7metre gorge to an awesome 45m plunge producing a thunderous roar and forming a beautiful rainbow. See Monitor lizards and get a chance of standing at a point where it rains throughout the year. Please come with your binoculars to enjoy more. Dinner & Overnight: Nile Safari Camp, Para Safari Lodge or Kyobe Safari Lodge.
Day 2: Early morning at 0600hours, go for an enthralling game drive in the northern Sector of the park. Enjoy the cool breeze on the ferry while crossing the Nile before starting on Buligi circuit. Look out for Elephants, Lions, Buffalos, Giraffes, Hartebeests and many more wild animals. The game drive takes 2-3 hours. Return to Para arriving in time for lunch. At 1400 hours, go for a launch/boat cruise on Victoria Nile to the base of the Murchison falls; en-route expect a spectacular showcase as hippos languish on sand banks, crocodiles rest on riverside, baboons play in groups on the banks, families of elephants trundle to the water for a drink, a wide variety of bird species- the rare Shoebill stork is ‘a must see’.
The boat stops just a stone throw from the “Devils Cauldron” (find out what it is while there), an excellent opportunity to take fantastic pictures of the majestic Murchison Falls. Cruise time; 2-3hrs. Enjoy the rest of the evening watching hippos forming air bubbles in the water and emerging from the Nile waters to graze on its lush banks. Don’t miss the spectacular sunset over the Victoria Nile at Paraa. Dinner & Overnight: Nile Safari Camp, Para Safari Lodge or Kyobe Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Take an excursion to Kaniyo Pabidi in Budongo forest Sambiya forest for chimpanzee tracking. Carry packed lunch and your luggage. Chimpanzees are man’s closest relations. Tracking takes 2-3 hours but is an exciting activity. In the forest walk, don’t miss the large families of baboons, black and white colobus monkeys and lots of bird species. The forest offers many species of butterflies and plants. Budongo is renowned for huge mahogany trees that are believed to be over 300 years old. After the forest walk, take lunch while retracing your footsteps to Kampala arriving late evening.
