Day 2: After breakfast, travel along the perimeter of the Khomas Hochland (our central highlands), towards the very edge of the central escarpment and experience the vista of the Namib desert at your feet. Descend into the Namib towards your first Namib guest farm and an opportunity for a night wildlife viewing drive to view the nocturnal animals of the desert. Includes: (B, L & D).
Day 3: Start your day with a pleasant early morning walk on one of the many marked hiking trails of this pristine desert environment. Drive via the small settlement of Solitaire for a quick fuel stop, and enjoy a slice of Solitaire's world famous apple pie with your tea/coffee while you wait. Continue towards your accommodation, a Moroccan-styled tented camp, with dinner served al fresco on the terrace with paraffin/kerosene lamps lit after sunset. Dine while viewing desert wildlife quenching their thirst at a floodlit waterhole - under the glittering canopy of the Southern Skies. Includes: (B, L & D).
Day 4: Be woken at dawn to travel along the Tsauchab River Valley towards some of the highest sand dunes in the world at Sossusvlei. Includes: (B, L & D).
Day 6: Leaving the Namib Desert, and entering into a region of the larger Karoo basin, arrive at a typical Namibian landscaped venue, where it seems as if you could see tomorrow arriving over the horizon. Day 7: One of the longer distances today, as you cross over from the Namib Desert in the west, to the Kalahari Desert in the east. End your first day in the Kalahari with a sundowners drive through the orange-red dunes, experiencing the changing colours of the sunset, contrasting against the dunes and grassland. Day 9: Unfortunately, all good things also come to an end, and you have to turn around and head back to Windhoek today. However, there will still be sufficient time for an early morning guided nature before finally returning to Windhoek. But not to make the transition to civilization too harsh, your accommodation tonight will be at a small Game Lodge en-route to the airport. Relax, and view a final sunset, on this, your last night in Namibia, Africa. Includes: (B, L & D).
