Your Itinerary:

Day 1: Reykjavik - South Shore - Vik

Depart from your hotel in Reykjavik in the morning.
The first stop is at the small village Hveragerði, where geothermal water is used to warm up greenhouses. We continue along the south shore and stop at the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss before continuing to Dyrhólaey natural reserve (closed during the nesting period until June 25th) or Reynisfjall. The promontory there is a massive natural arch carved by the relentless pounding of the winds and surf, whose sounds provide an accompaniment to the cries of the countless thousands of seabirds which nest in its every crevice. We then continue to Vík area for an overnight stay at Hotel Edda Vik or similar.
Dinner.

Day 2: Vík - Skaftafell - Glacial Lagoon - Höfn

We cross Eldhraun, the largest mass of lava ever to flow on Earth in historical time, before we reach the small village Kirkjubæjarklaustur, former site of a 12th-century Catholic convent. The tour continues over Skeiðarársandur, vast tracts of black sandy desert washed down by torrential glacial rivers. We stop at the Skaftafell National Park for a walk in the area. Then continue to the Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon where huge icebergs, broken off the ever-shifting mass of Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, float and grind together in the still, deep waters of the lagoon, providing a surreal backdrop for a cruise with a difference. We continue east towards Höfn area to our accommodation at Guesthouse Smyrlabjorg in Sudursveit or similar. Dinner.
(B) (D)

Day 3: Höfn - Eastern Fjords - Egilsstaðir

From Höfn we drive over the heights of the Almannaskard pass to Lónsöræfi, a mountainous wilderness ringed by extinct volcanoes and traversed by rushing glacial rivers. Towering mountains, their bare rock faces ridged by the forces of weather and wind, plunge vertically into the sea to form Austfirðir, Iceland's magnificent East Fjords, some now deserted, each a world of its own. We stop at Petra's Stone Collection before reaching Egilsstaðir for an overnight stay at Hotel Edda Me or similar. Dinner.
(B) (D)

Day 4: Egilsstaðir - Lake Mývatn

Across the empty vastness of the highland desert plateau Möðrudalur towards Námaskarð pass where boiling mud pools and flashing colours of the pass merge with ash and lava from the volcano Krafla. We spend the afternoon exploring the natural beauty of Lake Mývatn area, a wonderland of bird life and strange rock formations, with highlights like Dimmuborgir, the pseudocraters near Skútustaðir and the salmon river Laxá.Our accommodation is in the Lake Mývatn area at Sel Hotel Myvatn or similar.
Dinner.
(B) (D)

Day 5: Lake Mývatn - Akureyri

We head towards Akureyri the capital of the north with a stop at the waterfall Goðafoss. Akureyri boasts some of the finest timber buildings in the country, beautifully restored. Because of its excellent natural harbor and good accessibility, Akureyri has become the northern centre of education, culture, trade and industry. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Harpa or similar.

Day 6: Akureyri - Borgarfjörður – Þingvellir - Selfoss

Drive through the majestic mountains and narrow passes which lead to Skagafjörður for an introduction of the Icelandic horse. Across the Holtavörðuheiði plateau to Borgarfjörður with a visit to Hraunfossar waterfall and Deildartunuhver, Iceland´s most productive hot spring. Proceed over the mountain pass Kaldidalur to Þingvellir National Park and Selfoss. Dinner and overnight at Hotel Selfoss

Day 7: Gullfoss - Geysir - Blue Lagoon - Reykjavík

We explore the great waterfall Gullfoss and Geysir hot spring area to see the famous Great Geysir and Strokkur, a hot spring that spouts every few minutes, as well as numerous other hot springs and boiling mud pools.
