A tour exploring some of South Bohemia's best historic towns and natural history with four optional easy to medium guided walks.
Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Vyssi Brod and the Vltava - we will visit Vyssi Brod's Gothic abbey before, optional walking along the Vltava River into the nature reserve of the Devil's Torrents, and then through the Sumava Forest to the Devil's Stones Day 2: All day to enjoy Ceske Budejovice, explore its museums, galleries, and churches or visit the famous Budweiser Budvar brewery. Alternatively you could just enjoy the city’s many shops and cafes. Day 3: Trebon and the Lakes - We will visit this historic town of Trebon and optional walk around the World - the World being a historic fishpond. The walk is an easy 12 kilometre walk on footpaths through and past a variety of landscapes, including the pond itself, a peat bog, marshes and meadows. Day 4: Take train to Zlata Koruna (the train journey is delightful), visit to Zlata Koruna Abbey, optional walk to Divci Kamen castle. Day 5: The Golden Trail - the trail was a1000 year old trade route which brought salt and wealth to the area. We will visit the ancient town of Prachatice with its beautifully decorated Renaissance houses, optional walk through to Libin lookout tower with spectacular views of the Sumava Forest. On the way back we will call in at the UNESCO-listed Bohemian village of Holasovice Day 6: All day in Cesky Krumlov Notes:
