Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival Arrival in Istria, meeting with guide and presentation of programme. Dinner and overnight in hotel. Day 2: Groznjan - Motovun - Hum Breakfast, drive to Grožnjan - one of most interesting medieval towns. Grožnjan is a jewel in the heart of Istria, a 14th century medieval Venetian fortress, sitting a top of the hill, towering over the Mirna river valley below. Motovun is a town monument, an ancient little Istrian town located atop a 277-meter-high hill, 21 km southeast from Buje. Its present appearance, with the city walls surrounding the center of the town, dates back to the Middle Ages. Hum, known for their small churches rich with valuable frescoes, picturesque architecture and very good taverns famous for their homemade food. Hum has a reputation of the smallest town in the world with as many as 17 inhabitants! Lunch will be organised in a typical istrian tavern. Dinner and overnight in hotel. Day 3: Porec - Lim - Rovinj Breakfast, Today we will visit town of Rovinj. Feel the enchantment of the town in its narrow medieval streets and warm Mediterranean setting. The main Church of St. Euphemia keeps relics of the saint and presents one of the most beautiful Baroque achievements in Istria. From the church plateau there is a wonderful view of the open sea and numerous islets in the distance. A visit to the Rovinj Town Museum and the town's many galleries will complete your cultural experience. After sightseeing we proceed towards Lim fjord, due to his untouched Mediterranean vegetation and extraordinary rich sea life, a real Nature reserve. This Fjord penetrates the inland for 10 kilometers. Natural conditions offer breading many kinds of fish and mussels. Lunch will be served in fish restaurant. After lunch we proceed to Porec with its famous the 6th century Euphrasius Basilica,(UNESCO's World Cultural Monument). Dinner and overnight in hotel. Day 4: Pula - Brijuni National Park After breakfast short drive to Fažana where we will take a boat to national park.The Brijuni archipelago covers a group of 14 islands and islets of exceptional beauty. Brijuni were declared a national park in 1984. A ride on a tourist train will take you to the safari park. An expert guide will also show you the remain of a Byzantine fortification, photo-exposition "Tito on Brijuni", the Archaeological Museum and St. German's church. Pula the largest town of Istrian county with lot of great monuments like Arena, (UNESCO) the most important monument in Croatia from the Roman antiquity, erected in the 1st Century AD. When strolling around the Old Town, you will view the grandeur of Pula's impressive monuments, such as The Arch of Sergii, Hercules's and the Double Gates. Dinner and overnight in hotel.
