Day 1: Istrian dinner
Arrival in Istria, meeting with guide and presentation of programme. Our gastronomic tour will start with Istrian dinner in a typical stylish tavern. You have opportunity to taste istrian ham and cheese, home made pasta and meat. with potatoes, accompanied with good wine and istrian supa with red wine.Retunrn in hotel for overnight.
Day 2: Truffles and wine
Breakfast, drive to Motovun - one of most interesting medieval towns.Culinary agree only on one thing – truffle in gastronomy is on top level. Unusual underground hidden bulb, with no plant above ground is very difficult to find. Only, a well trained dog can sniff them. Truffles grow in grey soil, in woody humid area of Motovun in the valley Mirna.
Exactly that is where we go with a truffler and with his well dressed dogs seeking his majesty – truffle. During our 1,5 hour walk through the forest truffler will tell us all the secrets and particulars about truffles. After that, 4-courses lunch will be served on base of truffles followed with wine in a specialized restaurant. Visiting one of the best wine cellars in Istria, we will get acquainted with procedure of wine production and tasting of white, red and sweet wine.Return in hotel and overnight.
Day 3: Fish and olive oil
Breakfast. Today we will visit town of Rovinj. Feel the enchantment of the town in its narrow medieval streets and warm Mediterranean setting. The main Church of St. Euphemia keeps relics of the saint and presents one of the most beautiful Baroque achievements in Istria. From the church plateau there is a wonderful view of the open sea and numerous islets in the distance. A visit to the Rovinj Town Museum and the town's many galleries will complete your cultural experience.
After sightseeing we proceed towards Lim fjord, due to his untouched Mediterranean vegetation and extraordinary rich sea life, a real Nature reserve. This Fjord penetrates the inland for 10 kilometers. Natural conditions offer breading many kinds of fish and mussels. Before lunch we sail along the Lim fjord where you will have opportunity to visit oyster farm and to taste fresh oysters. 3 courses fish menu will be served in a fish restaurant. After lunch we will visit olive-groves and oil mill, where we will be acquainted with procedure of olive oil production and you have opportunity to taste olive oil. Return in hotel and overnight.
Day 4: Departure
After breakfast departure.
