Day 1: Meet and greet with M21093 staff at Kinobe Airport who will warmly welcome you and transfer you to a hotel in Kigali. Depending on the time of arrival for example if your flight arrives in the morning, you are advised to have money changed this day. To get to know Kigali, you can visit some of the landmarks in town with the help of our driver/guide. Places may include; the genocide Memorial site, the markets, Franco-Rwanda Cultural centre. Overnight stay at Hotel Des Mille Collines. BB.
Day 2: After breakfast take a two hours drive North of Kigali to Kinigi through the beautifully terraced hillside and the spectacular Virunga volcanoes. Proceed to Kinigi Park Headquarters to track gorillas in Pac Des National Volcan. Tracking through the dense forest is great adventure and thrill of observing the gorilla is rare, moving and exciting, though tough and tiresome. Once the gorillas are sighted it’s worth the input of time and effort. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest Hotel. FB.
Day 3: Today you have different options; you can choose to track the Gorillas again which is subject to payment of supplement at the time of booking, or track the Golden monkeys, or climb the muhavura Volcanoes, or take a walk to Lake Bulera or drive to Gisenyi and visit Ross Carr’s orphanage and visit the local community or simply stay resting at the camp. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest Hotel. FB.
Day 4: After breakfast our destination is Bwindi Impenetrable Forest driving through the Kigezi Highlands a place formally known as the ‘Switzerland of Africa’ and catching your eye again are the beautifully terraced hillsides with the winding roads and the distant view of the volcanoes and lakes. Time permitting you can take a guided nature walk in the thick and dense forest which is a habitat for many types of game, several bird species and beautifully colored butterflies.Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Homestead or Kitandara Tented Camp. Day 5: Early morning entry into the gorilla sanctuary. The rainforest is spectacular. It offers a dramatic, steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animals’ trails allowing access to tourists. Mammals recorded include the endangered Mt. Gorilla, rare golden monkey, buffalo, elephant, black-fronted duiker, bushbuck, leopard, giant forest hog and others. This park is best known for the fascinating gorillas. The time taken and the terrain vary according to the movements of the marvelous primates. The thrill of spending time and observing the gorillas is a rare moving, awesome and exciting adventure. The gorilla is a shy and peaceful animal and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact. Dinner and overnight at Lake Kitandara tented camp. FB.
Day 6: After breakfast depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha to view the famous tree climbing lions. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana. FB.
Day 7: Today we have an early morning game. Queen Elizabeth National Park is a home of abundant wildlife with grassy plains, and volcanic craters. You will have an excellent opportunity to see lion, leopard, giant forest hog, cape buffalo, elephants, defassa waterbuck, Uganda kob, topi and bushbuck. After lunch, enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. You will see a lot of hippos and other animals may be seen drinking at water’s edge. During this launch cruise you will have opportunity to take photographs, game viewing and bird watching with over 550 resident species of colourful birds for you to enjoy. Overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana Safari Lodge. FB
Day 8: Go for an exciting nature walk to Maramagambo Forest to catch a glimpse of a variety of primates including chimpanzee. Visit the bat caves and the ‘Blue Lake’. Or visit Kyambura Gorge to track one of man’s closest relatives “chimpanzees” which are unpredictable to see because they are quite mobile but the walk is enchanting. Overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana Safari Lodge. FB.
Day 9: After breakfast transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Enter through the Nshara Gate. Afternoon game drive along the lakeshore track. With its own system of game trails and cleared walkways, the “Kigambara Loop” offers interesting guided lakeside walks. Find here herds of Zebra, Cape buffalo and eland. Pribi and topi are easily approached. Along the game drive, many visitors enjoy a boat trip on Lake Mburo.
Self-guided nature trails are also available. Birdwatchers will enjoy more than 250 species of birds found in Lake Mburo including papyrus Gonolek, Brown-faced Lapwing, Carruther’s Cisticola, the extraordinary White winged warbler and bare-faced go-away bird. Return to Mantana Tented Camp for dinner and first class service all under canvas in the heart of the African Bush underneath the starlit African sky. Overnight at Mantana tented camp FB.
Day 10: After an early morning game drive to Jinja; en-route stand on the Equator, bargain at the roadside markets and see the royal drum makers. Dinner and overnight at Sunset Hotel. FB.
Day 11: You can either indulge yourself in a whole day White water rafting or visit the source of the Nile and relax at the Bujagali falls in the afternoon. Transfer to Kampala in the evening. Overnight stay at the Sheraton or Hotel Africana. BB
Day 12: Depending on your time of departure, get to know Kampala, you can visit some of the landmarks in town with the help of our driver/guide. Places may include; Kasubi Tombs, Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, Museums, craft markets and many others. Transport to Entebbe Airport ready to catch your flight back home.
