have a special relation with Canadians. My first tours as a private tour-guide and tour leaders were with Canadians. After a Paris or Mont Saint Michel tour they often asked me if I could take them to Juno beach. At this time I was not familiar with the place so I was not able to answer favorably to their demand. I decided to get there and create a tour that could satisfy my Canadian guests, as I have a special relationship with them. Here is my Juno beach tour!

I will come pick you up in the morning, direction Caen. In this big Norman city you could discover the remains of William the Conqueror’s castle from the Middle Ages, the Notre Dame de Froiderue gothic cathedral. Also we will stop for lunch in a local spot, far from mass-tourism spots : the Vaugueux area. A typical area with its Norman architecture.

After lunch, we will drive to Courseulles sur Mer, direction the Juno beach center. Here my colleagues will take you for a guided visit of the beach, landing site of the Canadian forces during WWII. Also the center is dedicated to Canadian history and you could visit the museum, learning you about the life of Canadians during this horrible WWII war. We French are grateful to Canadians for their heroism.
