Day 1. Greetings at the airport a 20-minutes transfer to a fine 3-star hotel in the center of Sofia. Free time in the afternoon and as you are in the center there are plenty of wide choice for restaurants, bars or even you can do some sightseeing by yourself.
Day 2. After breakfast, board onto our shuttle bus, with pickup point only a few minutes’ walk from the hotel and visit two of the most revered and famous UNESCO sites – Rila Monastery and Boyana Church.
You will be back in Sofia on time for the Free Sofia Tour and a fine walk in the center, while the guide introduces you to the history of the Bulgarian capital with interesting facts and funny stories.
Day 3. The cliché “you must see Plovdiv to see Bulgaria” is absolutely true and there is so much to explore in the country’s second biggest city. Plovdiv, a 2-hour drive from Sofia, is situated in the western part of the fertile Thracian Valley. A 2-hour guided tour of the Old City with its coble streets, ancient monuments, colourful Renaissance houses will reveal the intriguing history and culture of one of the oldest settlements in Europe.
In the afternoon a 30 minutes trip will take you to Bachkovo Monastery, a notable religious and tourist site. Enjoy its unique frescoes (17thcentury) and byzantine architecture, while your guide is introduces you to the fascinating history of the monastic complex. Pickup/drop-off from the reception of the hotel is included.
Day 4. The full day is dedicated to a tour to Koprivshtitsa - a museum town with a unique exhibition. After 2-hour drive along the road between the majestic Balkan Mountains and the gentle hills of Sredna Gora Mountains you reach the compact settlement of Koprivshtitsa, where over 250 types of Revival Period styles of architecture are preserved.
Starting from the monumental Mausoleum, we set out along the narrow, winding cobbled streets on our sightseeing tour to the beautifully decorated homes of local merchants, the symbolist poet Dimcho Debelyanov and revolutionary leaders. This trip is excellent for people who enjoy natural beauty, panoramic pastoral views, tranquility and poetry in architecture.
Day 5. Breakfast and transfer to the airport according to your flight schedule.
