Day 1: Arrive Cairo. Arrive at Cairo International Airport under your own arrangements (We recommend the flights offered by bmi and British Airways from London Heathrow). You will be met by a Corinthian Travel representative and transferred to your centrally located hotel. Accommodation: Stay for 3 nights at the Mena House Oberoi (Pyramid View Room, Garden Wing)/Four Seasons Hotel Cairo At Nile Plaza (Standard Room).
Day 2: Pyramids & Cairo. This morning tour the pyramid complex at Giza with your private Egyptologist guide. Visit the Museum of the Solar Boat; experience a short camel ride; and see the enigmatic Sphinx - said to portray the image of the 4th dynasty Pharaoh Kafre. In the afternoon visit the Egyptian Museum with its incredible collection of antiquities which include the golden treasure of Tutankhamen, and the elaborately wrapped mummified Pharaohs in the Royal Mummy Room.
Day 3: Wadi El Rayan & Valley of the Whales. Today there will be a desert adventure to the south of Cairo passing through the amazing rock formations of the Rayan depression and discovering the fossilised bones of early whales on foot at Wadi el Hitan – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. En route you will pass through the lush rural scenery of el-Fayoum and see the sparkling blue waters of lakes Qarun and Rayan.
Day 4: Fly to Luxor, Sunset Felucca Sailing. Fly to Luxor this morning with Egypt Air. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel located right on the banks of the River Nile. Following time at leisure you will be met and taken sailing on the Nile in a private felucca – a supremely relaxing experience and the perfect way to end the day. Accommodation: Stay for 3 nights at the Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa (Standard Room)/Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa (Deluxe Room).
Day 5: Luxor. Following breakfast commence you Luxor sightseeing with a privately guided tour of the stunning temples of Karnak (home to the great god Amun and regarded as the site of creation by the ancient Egyptians), and Luxor. The afternoon will be at leisure to relax by the banks of the Nile and enjoy the facilities at your hotel.
Day 6: Luxor. Starting at dawn today there is an optional opportunity for an unforgettable adventure: a hot-air balloon flight over Luxor (supplement applies). After breakfast visit to the necropolis of Luxor located on the west bank of the Nile. Here you will ride a donkey; see the Colossi of Memnon; visit the temple of Queen Hatshepsut, explore the Valley of the Kings with its grand rock-cut tombs; and see the small beautifully painted sepulchres at Deir el Medina. This afternoon is at leisure.
Day 7: Arrive Red Sea. A morning drive will take you from the Nile Valley through the Eastern Desert to the Red Sea coast. On arrival check-in at your hotel. The afternoon is at leisure to relax, swim, snorkel scuba dive, or visit the spa. Egypt’s Red Sea coast offers a hidden underwater paradise, rich in colourful corals, and offering an extraordinary variety of exotic fish. Accommodation: Stay for 3 nights at the Kempinski Soma Bay (Sea View Room)/Oberoi Sahl Hashesh (Deluxe Suite).
Day 8: Red Sea. Today is at leisure at the Red Sea.
Day 9: Red Sea. Today is at leisure at the Red Sea.
Day 10: Farewell to Egypt. Transfer to Hurghada and fly to Cairo Airport. On arrival check-in for your onward flight.
