Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Istria,meeting with guide and presentation program. Dinner and overnight in hotel at Buje area. Rural house in heart of Istria, a peaceful oasis for relaxation and an ideal starting point for daily exploration of this beautiful area. Day 2: Around Momjan Stage starts with narrow road through forrest and fields passing small village and Kremenje village.From there stage starts to go down and leads you by the spring Argila and brings you under the medieval castle of Momjan built on a rock at an altitude of 270 meter which you can visit.Walking through Momjan is relaxing and it's on your way to Sv. Mauro village wherer you can try famous Momjan muscat white wine in traditional cellar. You can enjoy in perfect wine with perfect view.Route continues downhill through few villages, forest, field with view on Buje town. Continues to lead you towards to Buje. After passing the old railway station you will reach Buje. Enjoy sightseeing in town full of history and culture.It's finishing in front of your hotel where you will get by ex old railway. Overnight in Buje. Day 3: Groznjan - Motovun. After breakfast you are ready to start exploring istrian villages and hidden paths. After 10 minute transfer walking stage starts on ex railway Parenzana. Parenzana was named after narrow-gauge Austrian and Hungarian railway connecting Trieste with Poreč through a series of Istrian small towns, for 123 kilometres long. The railway was in function from 1902 until 1935, and today, a part of the track is rearranged for cycling and hiking paths wounding through Istrian hills. Grožnjan will be you start point. After you see its galleries and viewpoints you can pass through magnificent rolling landscapes and lively Istrian vineyards. After passing through many tunnels, over old bridges and stop on many fascinating view point you will reach Livade the truffle center of the world where you can taste and buy some products with truffles. In front of Livade on the hill is town Motovun where is your hotel. Overnight in Motovun. Day 4: Oprtalj - Buzet. Ater breakfast short transfer to Oprtalj town.Pitoresque little village deeply in Istrian peninsula from where it starts the Istrian Mountain Trail route goes downhill into the forest and its passing in Sv. Ivan (st. John) village. Next village in St. Lucija with very beautiful church.Throught few villages you will get to Control point where is also one of the best views on river Mirna valley.Trail is passing by the Pietrapelosa fort and it leads down in the valley. After passing aqueduct trail goes on the hill in the Mali Mlun village and few more villages after where you will have another beautiful view on Buzet town.Through the forest and field trail will get you to Buzet.Overnight in Buzet. Day 5: Buzet - Hum - Buzet. Path from Buzet to Hum can be circular trail or one way if it starts from Hum. It starts by the river and it turn in the forest, passing over shallow river or riverbed if it's dry. It's passing by some waterfalls with lakes. Nice not too steep trail leads you all the way to Korita the water springs with natural pools and old watermill. Trail continues following the riverbed and it's passing trough Benčići abandoned village where you can see traditional Istrian stone houses. You'll see Hum and it's recognizable churchtower in the distance. When you get in front of city walls of the smallest city in the world and make yourself believe that it's true you can sit in Humska konoba restaurant which offers you nothing but traditional istrian dishes. The «way of mistletoe» will lead you all the way back to Buzet. It takes about 3 hours of hiking in one way. Overnight in Buzet. Day 6: Ucka. Transfer to Poklon, saddle between two hills from where trail starts.It goes on the top of Učka mountain which is biggest mountain in Istria with altitude of 1401 m. From the top it goes all the way down on sea level in Lovran.Path is covered by oak and chestnut forests that give pleasant freshness in hot summers. The very summit of Ucka (Vojak) is worth to climb on for stunning panorama. The panorama of Kvarner bay includes sea and coastal towns, as well as the mountains in background: Obruc, Snjeznik and Risnjak Western side the whole Istra peninsula lies in front of you. Sometimes, if visibility is good, view towards to Venice and on Alps on the north side.Overnight in 4* hotel in Lovran. Day 7: Departure. After breakfast departure. Notes: Price Includes:
