Day 1: Accommodation at the hotel. Introduction to the destination. Dinner.
Day 2: Breakfast. Walk around Opatija (sightseeing tour with local guide). This old lady of Croatian tourism, also known as Adriatic Nice proudly and rightly bears both of these names. Numerous landlords who enriched Opatija with the heritage of stunning villas, summer homes, promenades and parks, today would have been proud of Opatija which has emerged from their foundations.
The old Villa Angiolina whose park hides countless species of exotic and the local plants will amaze you with its youthfulness in old age. Walk the Croatian Street of fame that passes close to the main beach Slatina, enjoy the smell of the sea and rumbling of the waves, take a walk on the Lungomare Promenade that leads to the Church of St. Jacob, visit the Maiden with a seagull statue and artistic pavilion Šporer, some of Opatija’s famous sights. Lunch at a restaurant.
Visit to Kastav and Veprinac. During the middle age, Kastav and Veprinac were the center of life and jolly fests. Today, the remains of the historical forts are scene of the numerous concerts and exhibitions. The visit to Kastav will reveal a completely different type of city which differs from most of the cities located by the sea. Return to the hotel. Dinner.
Day 3: Breakfast. We would never allow you to miss the visit to the largest Adriatic island, Krk, connected to the mainland by the bridge. The start of our adventure is the bay of Punat where we’ll explore the city and its harbor. The town of Krk, capital of the island, is a typical island centre surrounded by the medieval walls and dominated by the Cathedrals’s bell tower. The pitoresque little town of Vrbnik will enchant you with its wines and the narrowest street in the world. We have prepared excellent wine tasting and lunch for you here. Spend the afternoon by visiting some of the events (exhibitions, museums and galleries in Volosko). Dinner at the hotel.
Day 4: After the breakfast, we will be heading to Livade, a small village situated in the valley of the Mirna River, near the famous Motovun forest that abounds with the most precious mushrooms in the world - truffles. Tasting in the Zigante restaurant, owned by famous family involved in truffle hunting and processing, you will have the opportunity to enjoy truffles; wine and olive oil with all your senses. Lunch will be prepared in a typical istrian tavern – konoba. Free afternoon. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 5: After the breakfast, we will visit Poreč, city with one of the best designed landscape architecture on the Croatian coast. This Roman city is a true copy of an ordered urban Roman town whose main streets Cardo and Decumanus preserved their function until today. Alongside of the visit to the oldest part of town, Marafor, the path will lead us and to the Complex of Basilica of St. Euphrasius, which was built in the 6th century, and because of its valuable mosaics and the rich ornamentation, has been included on the UNESCO list of protected cultural heritage.
We'll continue our trip to Lim Channel and have lunch there. What follows is a boat ride through Lim Channel, one of the most beautiful natural sights of the Istrian region. This is the place where the sparkling Adriatic Sea cuts deepest into lush vegetation of the Istrian peninsula. Due to the wonderful beauty of nature and abundance of wildlife that resides there, this area was proclaimed the natural reserve. Lim Channel also has its Hollywood history - it was one of the locations where the movie "The Vikings“by Kirk Douglas was filmed. Lunch at Lim fjord.
Afterwards, we’ll continue our trip to Rovinj - one of the most romantic towns in Istria - Rovinj. We'll take a stroll to Balbijeva vrata (Balbi Gates/Arch), the former city gate, where the story of Rovinj from Venice times begins. Labyrinths of cobbled streets of "Venice in a small" as we like to call Rovinj, will lead you through some of the most picturesque streets in Istria.
Grisia, famous artist's street, will amaze you with its galleries which hide the magic of unique handmade art pieces. A walk through the magical Grisia Street will take us from the center of the town to a small hilltop. The hilltop was a perfect place to erect the beautiful Basilica of St. Euphemia, the saint whose coffin, according to legend, floated to the coast of Rovinj. From that time, St. Euphemia is the patron saint of the city and the inhabitants have dedicated her church with a bell tower ornamented by her statue. Check in at the hotel in Rovinj. Dinner.
Day 6: Breakfast. Upon arrival to Pula the guide will take you to sightseeing tour around the city and its most famous attractions. Town is dominated by the imposing amphitheater - the sixth largest preserved amphitheater in the world, and during the walk through the town you will see the Triumphal Arch of Sergius, Dual gate/Dvojna vrata, the ruins of a Roman theater, Dante's Square, the Byzantine Memorial Chapel from 6th century and many more. Lunch at a restaurant in Pula. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 7: Breakfast to go. Trip to Plitvice Lakes, one of the most beautiful national parks in the world. Plitvice Lakes form an amazing complex of lakes and waterfalls. The turquoise color of the lakes perfectly fits into the golden-yellow autumn leaves and creates such a strong impression that everyone who ever visits Plitvice, carries the scene forever in his memory. The lakes and waterfalls will be visited on foot, in a combination with boat ride crossing the biggest lake, and the little train that will take us from the lake valley seat to almost the exit. After the visit to the national park, follows the lunch and transfer to the hotel in Zagreb for overnight stay. Cold dinner in the room.
Day 8: Breakfast to go. Check out and departure to the airport.
