Day 1: Kisumu sightseeing - Kogelo
This morning after breakfast you will leave Kisumu for Alego, Kogelo driving across the equator. Mama Sarah Obama who is our hostess and the main star here. She has a lot to share with you and this shall be an eye-opening juncture. We shall have a 45 minute chat with her. From Alego Kogelo we will explore other attraction sites in this region. Our first one being Lake Kanyaboli, the only oxbow lake in Kenya. The surrounding has some grand views of the expansive Yala Swamp which is also a habitat for rare and endemic bird species like the Blue-Breasted Bee Eater, the Papyrus Gonolek, the Swamp Flycatcher, the Papyrus Canary, the White Winged Warbler, the Great Snipe and much more. Driving across the dyke we will cross the equator again this time on our way to Ramogi Hills. This is where Luos first settled after migrating from the Nile Valley in Sudan. We will then move on to Bondo town for lunch and then drive to Kit Mikaye. This is another important landmark that is believed to be the boulders of the first wife. After having a good day out we will drive to the hotel for dinner and overnight. Day 2: Kisumu - Nairobi Today, we will leave the lakeside city for another long drive back to Nairobi. We will stop in Nakuru for lunch. Our arrival here is in the evening marking the end of this tour. Please note that this tour can be extended to either Lake Nakuru or Maasai Mara.
